The title didn't even mean shit in ECW either. It was literally Taz using it as a tool to give the middle finger to the real ECW World Champion at the time because he wasn't getting a title shot. The minute he won the world title the FTW title died.

In the storyline, he was frustrated by his inability to challenge for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship due to Champion Shane Douglas' injury and refusal to face him. Taz created and defended his own world title, billing himself as the "real" World Champion.
