The belt was literally inactive for 30 plus years. I could see if the belt was an "official" one and was used outside of Taz angles but it wasnt. If Hook blows up into a superstar, he won't be remembered for the FTW stuff.

I am indifferent to the title itself but I’m okay with it being retired. Like others have said it means Hook can move on to bigger and better things, and the fact it was done in New York where Hook and Tazz are from made it a more special and big moment.
