Why even give them a tryout in the first place if you already know you're not looking to hire any more guys that are smaller? Seems to me that they could have still helped add to the strength of the tag team division. No one said they had to be Wrestlemania main eventers.

This. It doesn't make much sense to me or seem very logical. The report in the OP just says he didn't offer them a contract because of their size. He would have already known their size ahead of time, so it wouldn't make much sense to have them come tryout if he knew he wouldn't want to offer them a contract anyway.

Bare in mind they've been working with smaller guys a lot of the time and the WWE uses 20 x 20 rings so their size could have been further highlighted by that. It's all about the perspective for the size issue. DB adapts to seem bigger than he is in ring maybe they couldn't do that.

Ahh, so maybe he was aware of their smaller stature but hoped they could fill the space better? That makes a little sense at least. Some smaller people make the most out of the space they have, and like you said can adapt and almost seem bigger than they are.

Their size is the reason what a bunch of bullshit look at Bryan and he's on top of the world. If don't wanna resign them let it because they lack of ability in the ring, when it comes to a character take a risk with them to see where it goes big mistake by WWE.TNA needs a tag team division Eddie and Davey could easily fit there easily.
This size rubbish is getting old now. Seriously I believe that Bryan could beat the big guys like Show and Henry one well placed knee and boom! Its stupid but hey we all know the E are big on guys like Sheamus, Brock, etc... But when Mysterio won the gold we didnt care so what is the issue really? Is it that guys with a certain build equal money it looks it as smaller guys never seem to get a big shot atm. Bryan royally screwed at SS when surely there was money behind his push? But it never seems to appease the E they push Show, Sheamus, Great Khali why?????? This is why I feel a cruiserweight title could breathe life into so many guys! But again it relies on booking and where the cash flow is at the time. No idea lol.

This post may make zero sense its a rant!

There's certainly a need for SOME big guys. Offering something for everyone is important, There's plenty of people out there who'll get behind a Big E or a Roman Reigns before a small guy; we certainly need massive fearsome wrecking balls like Henry, Brock, or Konnor; nice to have great big "road block" who's so massive that the babyface is always at a disadvantage like Big Show; and even human barbells that get lifted for impressive Cesaro swing spots like Khali. (Though as Cloud said we all believe that a giant can fall to a running knee now.) But they already have more than enough big guys to fill those roles.

I assume they're line of thinking is that they aren't guys you can give big singles' pushes to, and with teams like the Matadores and Usos also being indy-style guys without the charisma to work on their own so adding a third team like that is redundant. Can understand that.

But in 2014, fans are more interested in undercard matches you can look at and say "Hey, this oughta be good!" and there's many more fans are wanting to buy into smaller babyfaces than before. Judging by all the indy guys they've signed WWE knows this. Don't be too worried about this little announcement even though it sucks for the Wolves.

Remember when the undercard used to be a big deal? Say the tag matches between The Hardys, Dudleys and E an C there was a plot behind it all! Thats the issue all the E can write is the small guy is the underdog but if as is the case with Bryan you have a technically gifted wrestler why cant he beat a powerhouse by submission or with his technical ability? WWE cant write that atm they have tried and tested formulas and stick to them way to closely.

WWE being too formulaic is either a problem or something we should be used to by now. Their basic match style of "chain wrestle, heel takes advantage, babyface move loop, pinfall" is great for newer fans but every match doesn't have to be that way. Some variety would be nice. And Bryan: Why did he have to only get wins with the LeBell Lock back in the day? Would be great if he would be a fearsome competitor who can make you tap in many different ways, and we could respect him. Or Wade Barrett winning matches with knockouts and not pins? The list goes on and on.

Oh, definitely. But even at Wrestlemania last year there was a little bit of a plot behind everything... AJ's old lovers vs her new ones... WWE's most loyal superstars protecting the company from an invading force... Ryback and Henry's dick-off... It was all half-assed, but it was there. WWE can still book midcard feuds but guess they don't think it's worth the effort since the ME's always been the selling point and fans' expectations are really low.

Did it? Cant remember the undercard for last urar tbh already. Maybe I'm nostalgic but O can put an old PPV on and remember the ins and out of every storyline through the promo package.

Well, I've not seen much from them, but they were a good team from what I've gathered. I understand their reasoning (although we can't completely trust every piece of news that wrestling dirtsheets bring, you know, but assuming it's true), could've been a good addition to the tag division but I won't lose any sleep over it.
