Why are people saying that it's unhealthy if your ribs are showing???

It could mean you're anorexic, or on the verge or being anorexic later on in your life.. A lot of people that are that skinny tend to have eating disorders. It isn't healthy.

It depends HOW much ribs are showing. Most people who are their ideal weight will show some ribs when they move a certain way. Obviously less fat on the body means less skin hovering over the skeleton, however, that doesn't mean someone is unhealthy if you can see some ribs if, for example, they are stretching. If someone has all their ribs showing without any movement, you have an unhealthy problem.
