You are very wrong. He had Caroll last season whos bigger than Yakubu and Viduka combined.

And a winger cant be a playmaker.

He always was a overrated player. Much like Ashley Young imo, the later though still way better than downing.

Yes he did but Liverpool don't play the way Boro did at all, we utilized Downing's crossing ability whilst Liverpool had better players to utilize, like Gerrard or Suarez, and you are wrong about him being over rated, now yes I agree with you but when he played for Boro he was always VERY under rated, was never selected for England even though he was the best left winger for England at the time imo.

So if u need a team to play a certain way for a midfielder to be sucessful that highlights his limitations and proves the point that hes overrated.
Even a lil unsucessful i would have understood, but 40 matches or so, 0 assists, 1 goal ? Just proves that he was never a player with the class to perform for big teams. He was a big fish in a small pond, thats about it.

That's what you said. His position is a winger who cuts in, proof that a winger can be a playmaker. 1-0 Crayo.

Nope he doesnt cut in, unless he plays in the right wing, even then he limits himself to mostly crosses. #FailCrayo.

Although I'm a madrid mark, Iniesta is so damn awesome.

I just agreed with you that at Liverpool he has become over rated, but how can you say a big fish in a small pond, we got to the Uefa Cup final and he was our best player at the time, we were a top 8 club consistently with him still our best player, so at that point I wouldn't call us a small pond, if you were talking about now then yes we are a small pond but not when he was here, and also are you forgetting about his form at Villa, they were a top 6 club when O'Neil was there and Downing, Young and Bent were their top players, they were battling for top 4 every single season (yes they did fail every single season) and Villa are one of the biggest English football clubs yet he was still one of the top players. Form is temporary, class is permanent, yes he is in very very bad form currently, but would you say Fernando Torres has never been a good player just because he doesn't score enough at the minute, well he's starting to get there now but last season? And Liverpool are not a small pond either, where Torres was consistent just like Downing was at Boro and Villa.

When Boro was playing in the UEFA league i wouldnt say Downing was their best player. They had lots of other decent good players like Mandieta, Cattermole, Pogatetz, Hasslebank, Yakubu, Rochemback, and the experienced Southgate. Not mention Swerzer [or however his name is spelled] at goal.

Torres may not be in the best of his form, but hes still scoring goals, still providing assists.

Yeah Southgate maybe tips him in all fairness but I would still say he was better than the rest, or more consistently good at least, some of the others you've named simply don't compare to Downing imo, Cattermole and Rochemback were joke players tbh and never did anything for the club that told me they were any good, neither of them even started any games, Mendieta was better than Downing in his time but when he played for us was just pretty average, he was very old then and at that point Downing was the better player, Hasslebaink is the same as Mendieta, and Pogatetz was below par imo he was not a good player at all, very dirty, he didn't even play any games at that time anyway, we played Southgate, Eghiogue or however you spell it and Quadrue playing in defence.

Also Torres was hardly scoring or getting assists last season, it took hm until January to score at all so that isn't true.
