As for Jessica Fletcher, that one's a good one because I really don't know. I feel like she might be able to figure out it's Light but not figure out how the Death Note works and because of it I think she wouldn't be able to get him arrested.

Which as an aside L and Light's biggest flaws were pride which is why Light would probably fall to most genius detectives.

I think Frank would stumble and bumble his way into catching Light in a hilarious manner like walking into a room where he was stashing his evidence and he would help him put it up and would fall into a bucket that somehow contained the death note.

That kinda suggests anyone who has a higher intelligence and is at least good at piecing things together would succeed in some form with this.

An even more hilarious way of Frank solving the case would be him coming into possession of the Death Note, not believing that it actually works, and writing Light's name in it just to see what happens.

Tbh I feel like Wesker would probably figure it out how it works and find a way to use the Death Note for his own ends. He'd probably be less concerned with actually finding the killer.

I mean thinking about some of them.

Magnum PI- he would solve it. It may take him a while, but he would figure it out in the end.

Barney Fife- nope he wouldn't know where to begin.

MacGyver- I think he knows who, he would rebuild a new death note, and would work it that way backwards.

Axel Foley- he would have a gut feeling. He would come close and would get into trouble but would need help by Taggert and Rosewood to figure it all out.
