When Storylines Get Boring

Currently the boring storylines for me are the "I DEMAND RESPECT" CM Punk stuff, I found it got old real fast. And this Diva attack bullshit. What storylines do you currently hate?

Pretty much every "spilled coffee" feud where wrestler A and wrestler B feud for absolutely no reason. Where they bump into each other backstage, spill coffee or something else equally lame, and then do their worst to try and pretend they have reason to carry out a feud for 2 or 3 months. There's no motive, it's just writers being lazy and providing the fans with no dialogue or reason for a feud.

I think the CM Punk storyline is one of the worst I've seen these past 3-4 months. It's as if we're listening to a broken record because Punk just ends up saying the exact same things during a promo which he used a few weeks back. I understand wrestling is full of regurgitated storylines but the real problem with Punk is that no-one does respect him enough to heap praise on him. As I've said previously he hasn't done a great deal in the WWE and nowadays it isn't necessarily a huge thing if you win the WWE Championship.

Another boring storyline is Dolph Ziggler holding the Money in the Bank briefcase. There isn't enough buildup for when he does cash it in and I'm surprised WWE gave the briefcase to someone as boring as Ziggler. Lets be honest here, he has been with the company off an on for years and all he tends to do is to wiggle his butt cheeks and somehow he's a 'good wrestler'.

He actually is a good wrestler. He's probably one of the best heels they have if they actually gave him mic time and not to Vickie.

What? Dolph Ziggler is probably having the most pushed MITB reign of all time. He was at first constantly in Sheamus' face and had quite a few false cash-ins. The other heels pretty much just waited for their one good advantage. Seriously I don't see how that is not enough build up compared to the others who hid in the shadows. I think maybe you are just thinking he isn't ready to be champion. All I can say is he already 10x more prepared then he was with that shit ass hour title reign he got for no reason other than to give Edge another championship. So yeah after Del Rio got shafted with bad booking, I think Ziggler could easily pull into a higher spot.

Also his little feud with Orton wasn't boring for me, quality matches.

I guess the main thing with Dolph Ziggler is that I just don't view him as being a credible champion. I just can't see what talents, if any, he actually has. Maybe that's me pleading ignorance but if you take a look at what he has done in the WWE thus far it's actually not that impressive although on paper he has won quite a lot of titles in the WWE. I don't know why but I find him horrible to watch on TV, he is ripping off Ric Flair and I can't envisage him being WWE's top guy.

Pretty much every feud Sheamus has been in as of late has been lackluster to me.

I'm enjoying Punk's respect quest that has him butting heads with EVERYONE on the roster. His promos have been pretty damn good considering the depth of the scriptwriting lol.

Aside from the two top title feuds we don't have much going for storylines at all.

Ric Flair didn't have to do a show-off gimmick because his gimmick already had those elements to it. Dolph Ziggler may be a top notch worker but he isn't anything to get excited about. I feel that if WWE put the WWE Championship or World Heavyweight Championship on Ziggler it will just be another terrible title reign. In some ways he reminds me of CM Punk i.e being pushed without much history in the company. I appreciate they may not have had the opportunities but back in the day WWE were usually not as keen to put the belt on someone who didn't have a lot of history in the company.

You do know Ric Flair ripped off Buddy Rodgers Nature Boy gimmick right?

Edit: Also the history in the company thing doesn't make a lick of sense he's been in WWE since 2005 and that doesn't even include his developmental days which goes back to 04 and CM Punk has been in the company since 05-06 and was in the indy's for years which is pretty much the new territories.

That's just the times changing though. Back then (the AE) they had numerous bonafide maineventers so they didn't have to resort to todays means of putting the belt on a guy with little history in the company as you put it. Even when they did hotshot the title on a newcomer like Angle for example, they still had loads of guys around for him to feud with to make him look credible.

It's a no win situation from what you're saying really. You push these guys who don't have a lot of history and the company and you'll say they've not been round long enough, but if you don't push them then we're gonna be stuck with the same old guard holding the titles and the problem we have today of no new main eventers being made just escalating even further.

It's not currently happening but "wrestler feuds with authority figure" is tedious and suffers badly in comparison to Austin/McMahon.

It's just so overdone now.

Honestly, WWE fucked up the CM Punk shoot thing real bad. They should have had him continue on with it instead of what they have now. And honestly, I am not a fan of the current CM Punk storyline simply because he repeats himself every time.

To say somebody doesn't deserve the strap because they haven't been with the company is ridiculous. Ziggler has great charisma. As does Sheamus. WWE is at a point now that they need to do this. Aside from that, it's already been said. Ziggler has been around for quite some time. As has CM Punk. You'll see why CM Punk deserves to be where he's at from his documentary, which I hear will be reviewed on Itchin' For a Jay.

That love triangle wasn't done right in my opinion. I don't mind the love triangle stuff, as it was pretty awesome between Edge/Lita/Matt Hardy.
