Scott Hall was the first time i realized what a heel was. His promo with Nash and Hogan after the big switch (i was like 9) to me was the most amazing thing ever. All my friends and most of the school were in a huge buzz (everyone watched wrestling, guys, girls, popular, losers, you name it) and I was just in love with the bad guy deal. I wanted to be "the Bad guy" so badly.

Simply enough thread. Everyone has a favorite wrestler but what made them your favorite? Try to keep it solely to current active WWE stars.

For me it was The Miz when he cut this promo on MVP and his time in the WWE. I didn't see much in him before this. His mocking of Cena didn't entertain me, neither did his team with Jomo, I thought Morrison carried the team and still do but when he cut this promo I realized he was something special and as he continued to grow I became more and more of a fan.

I miss this Miz. Right now I feel he's a rookie tbh.

I have so many favorites, both in and out of WWE. But I'll try and wind it down to a few.

Punk: The original Summer of Punk promo, I like Punk before getting a chance to watch the original SOP but after watching that I was stuck on him (though still willing to critique him).

Samoa Joe: Joe vs Kobashi. Just for the match alone.

Bryan: Hard to pinpoint a point here since I kinda started around when his buzz was started in 2011 and he has grown on me since and still do.

Tozawa (Dragon Gate in Japan): His run in PWG and the American indies, dude is insane.

Steen: The moment he put a chair over Generico's head and cutting the "what does an alcoholic say when you ask why he drinks" promo.

Bret Hart - Just remember as a kid the way he came off as always respectful during interviews.
Sean O'Haire - Even though short lived....the "Devil's Advocate" promos gave me high hopes for his gimmick...
Bradshaw - Liked him since the Acolytes but when JBL emerged I was a fan
Cesaro - Since ROH days

List of favorite wrestlers go on.

Farooq became my favorite during the APA days, along side JBL. I enjoyed the gimmick a lot, two guys beating the shit out of people or drinking, honestly for some reason made me mark. Around that time, also dug around Farooq's career looking into his Nation of Domination stuff, and WCW stuff, and I was impressed. Sure he wasn't the best wrestler or best mic worker, but he did have a passion for this business that I can still see even when he shows up just to say :damn: . Nowadays when I see him, I get reminded of my grandpa for some reason too. Must be the old black man thing I suppose.

Shawn Michaels is a tough one. I always enjoyed him as a face when I was a kid, but hated him as a heel. As I moved away from being a casual in this sense and began to appreciate works of heels and faces, I began to enjoy HBK on another level. Someone who can get hated so easily, and yet so easily loved. He began to climb the list into my favorites, sadly soon enough he would retire.

Undertaker, is simple. My dad always talked(and still does) to me about wrestling, and he is a huge Undertaker fan. It more or less rubbed off onto me, but I have always enjoyed the Undertaker since growing up. Even when Taker was a heel I could not hate him. That creepy aura he had around him, the power he had and just the gimmick amazed me.

JBL is basically the same for HBK. I loved him when he was in APA, but hated him as JBL until I drew away from casualness. Looking back, he's one of my favorites, I'll even put him in my top 5 because his heel work was just amazing. His mic work is just GOAT in my opinion as a heel during his time. I wish he had another world title reign, honestly he deserved it.

Daniel Bryan, since he came to the WWE. I saw him in Ring of Honor for very little, and bought a PWI magazine that had him in it. The thing that made him stood out the most, was that his in ring skills was the highest rated in the magazine, but they had him low because of no gimmick. I honestly wanted to see him in a match really. By the time he had gone into NXT, I had internet access freely. His matches in NXT were interesting, his moveset caught my interest real quick, so I looked up more moves and was amazed by the submission moves he knew. Instantly became a fan of him because of his skill in ring, and was just hoping that he would get a good gimmick. His feud with Miz, defiantly pushed him in the right direction. I'm more than glad to see him where he is today.

Gotta throw in Bobby Roode. Watching his heel work, the heat he gained and just how smooth he worked the mic. Around the time I began watching TNA again, which is when he was champion, I became a instant fan.

Started watching PWG in 09, then my first ROH show was Final Battle 2009.

When Steen betrayed Generico, I felt alive again.. I felt like wrestling still had shocking moments.

I suppose I'll keep it to active WWE wrestlers for now, and add some others in later.

Dean Ambrose: I came across some of his HWA work in late 2010 via YouTube, and I just loved the way he was so eccentric in his promos. I tried to follow his matches, and promos, but I never got to watch him regularly until he got into FCW.

Luke Harper: Now, I never really got to watch him before he was in FCW/NXT, but I've really enjoyed what he's done in the E' so far. Man, he's such a beast in the ring.

Antonio Cesaro: I seen a little bit of his ROH/Chikara work and I thought he was pretty funny in his promos, and awesome in the ring. He's currently one of the best in ring workers in the WWE right now, if not the best.

Kurt Angle was my first favorite back in the day but I'm not entirely sure why.

Then Cena became my favorite after him. His raps on people, the throwback jerseys he wore and just his character in general made him my favorite.

Over the past year to year and a half, Daniel Bryan has been up there in my favorites. Partly because of his talent in the ring but also because he seems like a cool guy in the interviews he does.

Daniel Bryan- I was an okay fan of his during his NXT run and thought he was misused, after he was eliminated I just for got about him except his match with Jericho, it kept in my mind, after his return at Summerslam I was still kinda on edge with him until Bragging Rights when he and Ziggler tore the house down, I then went back watch his WWE stuff so far and spotted his promo saying about Bryan Danielson, looked him up and spent like a month watching his matches and my mind was blown, ever since then I have been a fan and it just builds as he gets better.

Prince Devitt- More of a recent thing, I heard about him but then someone said he is the best in the world and having never really watched him just looked up his stuff and learned about Bullet Club and became a fan.

Mick Foley- When I was like 8 or 9 I would watch all these extreme moments stuff and he would always pop up and years later just watching his promos as Cactus Jack and what he does to entertain I just loved it and since I have watched his DVD and read his books and the respect and admiration for him just grows.

Shawn Michaels- One of the first matches I watch was Him Vs Mankind and I was then shown his title reign and just became a fan.

Kevin Steen/El Generico- Their ladder war match made me a fan.

Austin Aries- His X Division title reign.

I had started watching wrestling in June 2012 and AJ grabbed my attention from the very beginning. I found her gimmick and interaction with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan very interesting. This moment, though, cemented my love for her. She closed the show with an unpredictable moment and she's been dominating the division ever since.

Punk - "You stupid old man. I'm a snake."

Bryan - I liked him before he came to WWE, but he wasn't one of my favorites until his match against Jericho on NXT. The way they worked together (and I'm a huge Jericho fan, too) made me a believer in the American Dragon (although part of me still wishes they'd let him keep his name).

Jericho - Cruiserweight title run in WCW

Aries - Another one i liked before he became "famous" as I followed him for a long time without being a big fan, but I really started loving him during his X-Division title run and was totally behind him when he gave up the X-Division title for a WHC shot. I still think he's the best all-around TNA WHC in the last few years (yes, even better than Roode).

(Almost forgot) Edge - He had been one of the top heels in the game and got injured. I cringed when I thought about him coming back and being a face, so when he came out and cut a heel promo on his return and was immediately reviled by the "Universe", I was in (no homo) man-love with him. It was great.

(Also almost forgot) Flair - My grandmother (God rest her) hated him. I started out trolling her (although we didn't know that word back when I was six years old) by cheering for him and I realized, as time passed, how much I actually liked him.
