We have all seen zombie films, zombie tv shows or read zombie books. Surely most people whilst watching or reading about it have thought to themselves what they would do in that situation.

Let's imagine that the world has been over-run by zombies following an catastrophic world event. Let's pretend that these are the slow walking brain dead zombies rather than fast moving superhuman zombies.

You would need to find supplies of food and water and preferably some sort of medical supplies as well incase there are injured, but not infected, people. Most would also preferably want to find some weapons to defend themselves with against any zombies that get too close for comfort. You would also need to find somewhere to shelter from the zombies.

Would you try to find a mall or a huge shopping centre to camp out in? Would you decide to head to the water to find a cruise ship to steal and stay on? Would you head to a small isolated island? Would you go to a military base? Would you welcome the new zombie overlords and join them?

What would your plan be?

Probably try to bug out and hop aboard a Navy Nimitz-class aircraft carrier. Those things have provisions to last for years, and they don't need "fuel" so to speak, as they're nuclear powered and can sail for years. If the whole world was infected, I guess I'd sail for the atolls and uninhabited islands of the South Pacific where there'd be sustainable land to grow food and game to hunt. No, I dont know how to drive a aircraft carrier, so I hope there'd be some sailors on board to steer the ship, ha ha.

I'd climb a tree and hope zombies couldn't climb.

Honestly, I'd scavenge what I could, food, water medical supplies and other things. I'd have some guns, but my main zombie killing weapon would be a sword. I'd probably stay at my house, as it's pretty secluded from any major cities. Maybe drive around, looking for any survivors and try and save them.

No amount of planning survives first contact with the enemy! and in this "ultimate survival scenario" its best to have a plan that can be changed at a whim.

First things first, I would have to cut my hair & shave my beard, and get rid of any loose hanging clothes like my trenchcoat. Make it harder to be grabbed by anyone.

You should probably invest in a deck of plastic playing cards. Never know when you will need a distraction from the outside world.

Heading north into the dense forrest areas of the Canadian shield would be ideal. Caves, ranger towers, cabins for shelter, enough game to survive, and very little population to worry about.

Remember that when you need to go looking for supplies, to try and think of the most unlikely places first. Wal-Marts, Targets, etc. are all going to be a living hell, small Ma & Pop shops, Tattoo Parlours(for disenfectives, wound wrappings), factories(lunch rooms usually have vending machines, first aid kits, and you never know what else could be inside for defensive measures), or abandoned construction sites(tools, pre-fab sheets, rebar, etc.).

When it comes to food, Christmas Cake, Jerky, & Oatmeal all have very long shelf lives. Jerky & Christmas Cake are both fairly easy to make, and Jerky is a rather valuable comodity to know how to make it, providing you are planning on hunting or trapping. In the first days, eat all the perishables even if it seems like feasting. Its better to increase your body mass to have the fat to burn off in later days of starvation.

.

What are you going to hunt with? Bow and Arrows? Since you don't need guns and all....

First I'd raid whatever I could for supplies then I'd break into an apartment complex and start throwing everyone's furniture down each flight of stairs until they are pretty much blocked. It's not too difficult.

I'd also have tons of guns, of course.

I'd use my basic knowledge of the human anatomy and wait a few weeks until the zombies are all riggied out (rigormortis) and walk around all nonchalant and eventually they will start start wasting away.

Not all Zombies are depicted as being dead. Could be a virus, or something, that takes over the mind, and refers it back to primal instincts.

I would probably want to get a shit ton of supplies and head out into the ocean. Maybe sail to a secluded island, or uninhabitable regions like Antarctica.

Even primal instincts didn't make you want human flesh.

28 Days later didn't change the Zombie genre.
