Not many are... But, I do occasionally enjoy a good Horror/Thriller film hear and there.

One of my personal favorite Hero movies.

I hate The Big Mermaid Jason Momoa for turning the remake down.

It most likely wouldn't have been better than the first one.

Gremlins (1984)
One of my all time favorite films...and its nearly as old
as I am.

Seriously...this film is 35 years old this year...

I just love it...the characters, the town, the story & of
course...the Gremlins...who (IMO) still look incredible
for a bunch of hand & rod puppets.

10 out of 10!

Well...7 days later...& this weeks Friday Night Movie was...

Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990)
Possibly the most "off the wall" sequel ever made...Gremlins 2
is basically a live-action cartoon that pokes fun at the original
film without being mean spirited about it.

Joe Dante was given free reign to do whatever he wanted...
and he truly didn't hold anything back.

The Gremlins look & sound better than before & thanks to a
genetics lab in the building, gain many different & interesting
forms & abilities.

I also have to say that the Gremlins look much more lizard-like
in this film as well as many of them having small spikes/bones
sticking out of their faces. Its a really cool design choice that
seems to give these Gremlins more of a "dangerous" edge...
even if most of them act even sillier this time around.

Tony Randall shines as the voice of the "Brain" Gremlin &
Frank Welker makes a welcome return as the voice of Mohawk...
this film's version of "Stripe" from the first film which he also
voiced.

While I will admit this film isn't as good as the first...it still has
a certain "charm" & energy to it that I still love.

9 Out Of 10!

I honestly feel like seeing Joker just so I can be a part of the meme.

Umm last movie? Oh this thing. It was a bit too trope-y but the acting was nice, had some big names and Samuel L. Jackson gave a great performance as the villain

Crawl (2019)
A film in which a Hurricane & a "Swarm" of Alligators try to make
Barry Pepper finally pay for the sin of being in Battlefield Earth.

It was okay I guess...

But then I wasn't expecting any kind of high art.

Philosopher's Stone. God the first 3 Harry Potter movies were so good (they kept going for action scenes over story as the movies went on, with the last 2 in particular being guilty of this)

Rupert Grint as the comic relief, lovable best friend Ronald Weasley is the best in the cast when you look at what he was able to do at such a young age IMO. Radcliffe and Watson weren't bad but their acting could (and did) improve over time. All the adults played their roles well. RIP Richard Harris (and I guess Alan Rickman now too... fuck)

There is like hardly any faults you can make about this movie. 10/10
