Tough question. I love the Fifa Series, the Football Manager series and various other games. However, it's got to be Skyrim. The graphics, gameplay and depth of that game are phenomenal.

In terms of playability it's hard to beat FM and Fifa like MKT says. I've spent more hours than I care to count playing those two, particularly FM, and really they're the only two games I ever buy now.

However, going back it's hard to beat the GTA franchise (GTA V is one game I almost certainly will buy), the MGS games are up there for me too, and also Half-Life 2.

Half Life 2 is definitely up there in terms of an all round product, just about every aspect of that game is perfect.

On a personal level, old school games like Rollcage & Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf for the PS1 along with Crash Team Racing & Tony Hawk's 2, and then on the PS2 you've got Pro Evo 4, Tony Hawk's 3 and Burnout 3.

I'm not the biggest gamer in the world (I have a ps3 but I mostly use it for Blu-Rays now) but I have to agree with the OP. GTA: San Andreas was phenomenal. Definitely my favorite GTA and my favorite game in general of all time. I had an XBOX back in 2004 and I was incredibly excited when Rockstar released it for XBOX. Made my year.

San Andreas was fucking awesome when it came out, but I feel the graphics have aged real bad over the years.

That was when PES was challenging Fifa's spot for the best Football game around, it's a shame that Pro Evo aren't even close anymore.
