NXT World Champion: Shinsuke Nakamura
NXT World Tag Team Champions: The Revival
NXT Woman's Champion: Asuka
NXT Episode 215
September 28th, 2016
Full Sail University: Orlando, Florida
In a pre-tape, GM Regal announces the Dusty Classic II this year, 16 teams, single elimination with the finals being at TakeOver Toronto.
Tye Dillinger vs. Angelo Dawkins
Graves rips AD as usual, but it's not as great as his KD comparison. Standard Tye showcase, Tye Breaker ends it in under 2 minutes.
After the match, as Tye is leaving Bobby Roode comes out. He says that was simply...simply...impressive. He calls himself the Perfect 10, but he's not quite a 10 yet. He sees a lot of potential in him and with the proper guidance, maybe. The #1 reason he came to NXT was to compete in and win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, the crowd begin chanting "GLORIOUS TEN" He says he needs the perfect partner and asks him to be his partner, and Tye agrees.
Backstage: Charly asks Hideo about his match tonight, Hideo says he's looking forward to facing Lince Dorado tonight as he's a great fighter and has alot of heart, unlike Austin Aries. He said he da man, but I don't think so. He's a baby and a coward and I will put him to sleep again.
The Ealy Brothers make their debut, I remember for about a year I use to call them he Early Brothers
Anyway, here comes my kids to put on a tag team classic.................BUT SAMOA JOES BARGES BY THEM AND BEATS THE SHIT OUT OF THE EALY's
He destroys them both and leaves, and the Revival just leave. Joe says these are the first two victims of William Regal's inability to make a decision. He has not made a decision, so the beatings will continue until the decisiveness improves. Bring him Nakamura or hand him his championship.
The Ealy's never recovered after this, and fast forward to 24/10/2018 they were just released.
LOL Another Dan Matha video package, he looks exactly like Nathan Jones
BUT FUCK ALL THAT SHIT! MANDYGAWD IS HERE!
Mandy Rose vs. Ember Moon
Mandy hits a killer forearm 20 seconds in, but Ember no-sells it and goes on a run of offense, BUT MANDY COMES RIGHT BACK WITH A STIFF BICYCLE KNEE. Which automatically makes her the 3rd best woman's wrestler on this shitty roster, she works the head and neck for a bit, but she's not good enough and resorts to more trash talking than moves. Ember's comeback is dope, she busts out a lot of unorthodox high spots and hits the Eclipse for the win. **1/4
Backstage: Dasha is with DIY, Gargano says it felt good to send The Revival running off, but something's missing. They have a checklist of unfinished business. Ciampa says the Dusty Classic is how they got here, but they didn't win it. The journey began a year ago, and the first item he sees is to win the Classic. Number two beat The Revival. And number three, they won the people over and earned their spots in NXT, and then they make the impossible oh so possible because they will WIN the NXT Tag Team Titles.
Jesus & Johnathan Cruz vs. The Authors of Pain (w/Paul Ellering)
FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! MEXICAN RADITZ IS BAK BUT NOW HE'S GOING BY THE NAME JESUS! And to further put over his goatness he has the tagline "Last of my kind" on his attire
AMAZING! A.o.P wins via death and it rules.
Paul Ellering says the next chapter will unleash a plethora of pain, and for now, that is all they need to know.
Backstage: Charly asks Mr. Regal for an update on Nakamura, he says he can't as Nakamura has not returned his calls. She then asks for some of the teams in the Dusty Classic. BUT BLAKE AND MURPHY ARE BACK TOGETHER
Blake says Murphy has cleaned up his act and they want to be at the top again, they argue again and Regal says they need to sort their act up.
Liv Morgan vs. Asuka
This is incredible in a kayfabe/booking standpoint, Liv thinks she's ready but she really isn't, and Asuka washes her in under a minute. Asuka busts out the Rings of Saturn because she didn't even need the Asuka Lock to win. ALL THE STARS!
Andrea interviews Asuka post-match and asks who her next victim is? NOBODY IS READY FOR ASUKA!
FUCKIN HYPED!
Lince Dorado vs. Hideo Itami
NXT is back to doing this weird thing where they're putting on 5 matches in a 50-minute show, so the main event only gets 8-9 minutes with 7 minutes really shown due to the break and it hurts it more times than not. Hideo looks fully confident now like he's not just trying to fit in like he was before the injury, he's more feeding into what his opponent gives him. In the Drew match it was about stiff one another, but here it's more about the high flying spots and flashy moves. Lince goes after the arm for a bit, but it never goes further than an armbar attempt. Hideo fights back with some high spots and kicks of his own, Lince misses the SSP and Hideo hits the running dropkicks and finishes it with the GTS for the win. **1/2
After the match; Austin Aries attacks Hideo from behind but Hideo fights him off and Aries bails out again.
