Who would be out of place? I don't think I could confidently say any random jobber wouldn't have been thrown in and Brock was never planned on this hypothetical. There's barely anyone announced for the actual rumble ao we could have lots of Jinders or Tozawa's
Oh, of course.

Without Vince WWE would not exist in its current form. Wrestling would still be a bunch of territories and may have never gotten the exposure it’s had (unless some other genius figured it out)

National TV and PPV would have killed the territories 5 years later, Vince just had the foresight to jump on these things first. If no one else did (and some did just didn't have the same funds to succeed), then it would have just been a slightly slower change.

Not disagreeing Vince majorly changed the product that we watched, but it isn't a case of without him it never happens. Also everyone knows his case in wrestling history, doesn't change anything about him being a scumbag.

It won't keep me from watching WWE, I can go back and watch Chris Benoit matches without any real issue, I can still enjoy Vince vs Austin from 1999 just the same. I don't have to pretend he's not a scumbag to do it

It's not like we can magically time travel and prevent Vince from being born or something either. No one is threatening to take away the 50+ year history, essentially we're learning more about it that history and people wish we weren't (me too fwiw but bc I wish it didn't happen at all)

Yea, no one can take away a decades long history... but hell, this opens a shit ton of doors when it comes to thinking about accusations, stories and even On-Air (and/or "In-Character") situations from the last 35-40 years.

I'm mostly addressing Sabs tone deaf comment, and ppl who think like that exists and are numerous. Even if I respect the people saying they'll keep watching, I feel like even now is not really the time to say that stuff as ur essentially telling this company : no matter what you do, ill consume. I think that's like, almost crackhead type behavior in a way - and im sorry if i dont have a better way of saying it that sounds less insulting. i guess i just wish ppl would maybe take a second to look inwards and really ask themselves if this stuff is really worth it - because as it stands every penny u spend on watching this show still enriches this man . thats just the truth.

I'm probably not gonna watch WWE outside of Mania for a long while tbh, not until Vince and his goons are gone.

Genuinely doesn't bother me if you judge me for it, you dont even have to tiptoe around it either, I get it.

In fairness, that only get profits from me in terms of time or viewership not really actual money tho. I pay for Peacock yearly not just for WWE tho that's most of the reason and YouTube TV I mostly only pay for due to WWE/AEW. They get my viewership which they can then sell for rights fees but haven't bought merch or been to a show since....2005? Kinda wild now that I think about it

It may not be the case for you specifically and I get your logic, but yeah viewers = new tv deals = executives getting big fat bonuses. Which unfortunately means even stuff like social media* engagement* contributes to their next big pay day.

It is wild you haven't been to a show since 05 or bought merch. ur more casual than a lot of ppl .

I was pointing out a fact. I’m not denying the fact that Vince is still a piece of shit and needs to be held to the accusations.

This news is honestly so surreal. It’s really hard to think when this came so soon after the Netflix announcement.

Also, pretty wild I was just talking about how endeavor was trying to minimize Vince’s control specifically because they worried about the next scandal to drop and what was it like only like four days later I think?
