Some people are expecting that Val Venis’ character may be some sort of political spoof, although that isn’t confirmed.

In terms of news from WWE internally, many feel that due to injuries, the company felt that a veteran performer was needed to work upcoming European dates.

Incidentally both RAW and SmackDown crews will fly out to Europe after finishing with this week’s tapings.

I am slightly surprised by this move. I liked Val Venis and thought he had a role to play as a veteran to work with the youngsters helping them get over and help refine their skills. I was surprised when he was let go from WWE since it was really only him and Finlay playing that role. Still I didn't expect WWE to bring him back. Will be interesting to see how they reintroduce him, that is if he infact makes it back onto television.

Personally I am very excited to hear this, Sean Morley has always been a favorite of mine, from Val Venis to the very end. He was always a dedicated and loyal employee that never once complained about being jobbed out week in and week out, when he was once a huge guy on the roster. He always put his best forth when he entered the ring, which is more than can be said for even some of the consistent main eventers. Whether he comes back as a backstage hand or an on screen wrestler, I am personally very happy about this. I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed as a trainer/agent and did the occasional appearance and match here and there, would make the most sense if you ask me... Which you should ;)

I think that you will be right in that his main role will be as a trainer and then he will appear on television ever now and then. I don't think that he will be back as a regular member of the roster although he may have a run when he returns for a couple of months. Whatever happens it is great that he is back in the WWE since he has so much to give and with the roster lacking a lot of veterans the rookies need to be trained up fast and properly and he is the right guy to do it. Could he be part of the renewed Tough Enough as a trainer as well?

Well with Tough Enough in the rumors of coming back Val Venis would indeed be good as a trainer much less like Finlay and even Goldust! I hope the PG thing wont kill his pic character!

Finlay and Val Venis as the two male trainers would be a great combination for Tough Enough.

I am not sure if Val Venis will come back with his pornstar gimmick considering it is PG. He may be back with the same name yet make it like a ladies man gimmick rather than a pornstar. I liked his Sean Morley gimmick as well so they could use that if they want him to be more serious. I actually wouldn't mind him coming back under the Right To Censor gimmick especially with some of the recent media comments on WWE surrounding the political campaign of Linda.

Very good point man, Sean Morley would make a great trainer for the new Tough Enough, certainly would be an interesting way to keep him on television and have him wrestle the occasional match before heading to his backstage role. Personally, alongside Sean Morley, I'd like to see Finlay, William Regal, Chavo Guerrero and Dustin Rhodes as trainers, they are all veterans of the game that clearly aren't going to be rising up the ranks anytime soon but they all have that special something that could help mold the stars of the future.

Come on guys, really? A trainer?

THINK DANIEL BRYAN. They want him to be a Ladies' Man, who else but Val Venis to teach him how to pimp.

Lmao thats another good point Andrew, but for that why not bring The Godfather back?? Val Venis would kind of be useless since he jobbed all the way until his release, but as a trainer such as what Al Snow did would be excellent even a color commentator.

Those five would all be good choices for Tough Enough but I see them selecting three at most for the show which is a shame. I don't see Dustin Rhodes getting the gig since his Goldust character is still over enough for him to stick around on television. It is tough selecting between Regal and Chavo but I think that Chavo would get the nod since he has a different style to the other two whereas Finlay and Regal's styles are reasonably similar.

A trainer as well as an onscreen performer would be good. WWE need trainers for the huge amount of wrestlers on the roster and what better than someone who wrestled with them for over a decade and is still fit enough to go with the younger guys in the ring.

The idea of getting Venis involved with Daniel Bryan isn't something that I had thought of but it is a very good idea. They are trying to push Bryan as a ladies man so what better person to get involved that Venis.

Godfather could come back as part of RTC as well, just need Stevie Richards and Ivory and then everything is set. Venis could be more useful behind the scenes but could help as a jobber again on-screen helping to put over the younger guys and helping them improve on the road.

Charles Wright (Godfather) is one of my favorite wrestlers to be honest, he had great ring presence but his skills lacked a lot. He has suffered numerous knee injuries and I don't think WWE would think to hire him back for anything more than a random Godfather appearance that would be lost on a lot of today's audience.
