I called this. Skipping the WM after the end of an era match gives off the impression (kayfabe wise) that he really is retired, only for him to come out and challenge Cena to one final match at Wrestlemania 30 (or vice versa) because Cena is the biggest challenge left for him to take on. It makes me fear though that Cena will beat the streak because at least then Undertaker can say he made to at least twenty wins before losing. If they become so desperate to make Cena their biggest star ever that they give him Taker's streak, I'm seriously done with WWE, which means I'm done with wrestling entirely. That sounds like a hyperbole statement, but I'm already nowhere near the passionate wrestling fan I used to be, this would be the thing that drove me away completely.

That said, it's good that the main event might be a triple threat (called that too, Cena's Raw promo hinted at it, me thinks) but I was hoping that would install hope that Taker/Brock would happen instead of HHH/Brock. Because I could still see Triple H sitting WM out before Undertaker. Guess not.

Ah bored of this shit. For years especially last 2 years there are rumors like this but every single time he kept coming back. His gimmick is deadman but oh, this guy is a deadman in reality as well. Against all these injuries, all this odds he kept wrestling even once a time a year, in a high level. He competed in high level matches. Believe me he will be here at least for 2 years. This one and the next one.

I agree that he should either retire or take a year off. Mania will do just fine anyways, drop a bit in buys but it won't kill it.

It's just 1 match. As long as Taker doesn't take unnessery risks he should be able to do 1 match w/o diminishing his health.

Have you looked up his injuries? After Wrestlemania 27 he basically spent April to November lying down. His injuries are long term.

I see. In that case it's best he take the year off. But make a couple of non-wrestling appearences to still somewhat maintain his presence in the WWE.

Taker's match looks in doubt!

The talk backstage at WWE’s TV tapings is that the Undertaker’s status for WrestleMania 29 is uncertain.

There were reports several months ago that the Undertaker told WWE he would be able to wrestle at the show and named CM Punk as the man he wanted to defend his streak against.

As of this week, it sounds like the Undertaker’s badly damaged hip, which was worsened last year during his Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania, is still a major issue.

This is not the first time that the Undertaker’s health has put his WrestleMania match in jeopardy. If he decides against wrestling this year, there will need to be changes made to several planned WrestleMania matches.

Of course his health is the most important thing, but it wouldn't be Wrestlemania without Taker.

   Hope Unertaker can wrestle at WM29 but not CM Punk! But does this mean that will have a 3 Way at WrestleMania 29 for the WWE Champion? Since Cena said he would to face both of then on Raw this past Monday?!

Honestly if last year's match was Taker's last it would be fitting, 20-0 and having a match like that to end his career

RE: Big Update On The Undertaker’s Status For WrestleMania 29!

I actually think the end of an era match would have been a more appropriate place for Triple H to call it a career than Undertaker. Of course, then we'd never get Triple H/Brock. Speaking of which, I'm still holding out hope that it's Taker/Brock at Wrestlemania. Maybe Triple H will indeed get involved but he won't be the one to face Brock. Maybe he'll give a speech about how Brock has run through his best friend Michaels, himself and now has hurt the very owner of the company (reports say that Vince needs hip surgery after Lesnar's F-5, which will fit very well into the angle) and so he calls upon the one guy he knows from first hand experience can take down Brock - the "conscience of the WWE", the Undertaker.

'Reports' also said Undertaker wasn't fit to wrestle last year, but he did. Remember that dirt sheets are called dirt sheets for a reason. They're the equivalent of gossip in the celebrity world. Take them with a grain of salt.

Definitely for the best. This pretty much guarantees the Rock vs. Cena vs. Punk match will be happening which while I don't love it, is at the very least a million times better than Rock vs. Cena II. It also means that Taker get's much needed time to heal before WrestleMania XXX (hehe) for a match against Cena, which incidentally is the only remaining streak match I have any interest in seeing.

Assuming this is true, yearly reports like this and the MITB returning at Mania tend to be high on my BS list. Though this one is certainly more believable than the latter. I mean, eventually that wolf they been crying about has to show up.
