Even playing up the reach similarity factor on the poster, its meaningless when Alex has no idea how to use his and doesn't have a wingspan like Jones anyway.

Be shocked if this was anything over than a Jon Jones wreckage, haven't seen anything in Gus to believe he might take this.

I am a fan of Gustafsson but I even think this is a little too soon. I want him to do well but he isn't going to beat Jones. Quality poster, like the concept behind it.

Yeah the thing between this fight and the Silva/Weidman fight... is that you kinda felt that Weidman could have a sliver of a chance. Like there was just something that Weidman could do that would give him the win. But this fight... not feeling a thing cept Jones throwing elbows and messing that face up.

Gus is average at best, reach is overplayed as a vital asset in MMA when it barely matters, this is not boxing and I can count the fighters on one hand who have a good jab.

Barao/Wineland should be fun. Barao is criminally underrated IMO,better than Aldo, DMJ and Benson in the list of champs P4P.

Watching these weighins... Schaub and Matt had one of those intense staredowns... then started jawing off after the staredown for a good bit. Hopefully that intensity is brought to the fight.

Jones looked like absolute shit agaisnt Alex. Only won because both guys gassed and Jones did more damage in the gassed Championship rounds. Cant beleive some mediocre guy with average at best skills took this destroyer of the LHW division to his limit and nearly won.

Was close as hell, but Jones won three rounds, including the last two to retain his strap. MAN what a fight & Gustafasson has a fucking chin.

Ya know I had to be out eatin wings while watchin this. I actually missed the first two fights cause I fell asleep watching those. But I woke up before the heavyweight fight and Schaub did pretty good. Got that nice sub win and choked meathead out cold.

Man... Barao is one baaaaaaaaad man. Not sure Cruz would have what it would take to beat him. Especially after a 2 year layoff... just make Barao your champion cause who is gonna stop that bad man? Nobody.

Main event... that was a fight. Alex brought the fight. Brought it hard. Haven't seen Jones get hit so many times... He prob got hit more times in that one fight than in his past title defenses combined. Got cut... got taken down. He couldn't score a takedown at will. It was like wow. But Jones hung in there. But Alex knows how to take a few hits there. Although I didn't really see Jones go for a real finish cept for that one time. Kinda like the Jackson's style specially with GSP. Don't really finish but you do more than enough to try to ensure the victory. But that was a pretty good fight. Just wondering if that sorta style will fight against someone like Glover cause I don't think it will.

Cant help but wonder if that fight was good or bad for Glover seeing a guy that nobody expected to trouble Jones give him the toughest fight of his career. Might boost Glovers belief in himself or send Jones to hit the gym hard. Hopefully that wasn't the Jacksons gameplan finally hitting Jones, there were several times where he could have pulled the trigger but held back and let Alex recover. Alex can take a punch though.

Ok, that fight was pretty fucking awesome and totally unexpected from my perspective. I was shocked how close that fight was and how awesome Gus looked in all aspects of his game from his standup and the amount of times he landed on Jones, to his takedowns and takedown defence.

I had Rounds 1 & 3 to Gus and Rounds 4 & 5 to Jones with 2 being the tricky round that I feel would have decided the fight. I think that huge elbow from Jones at the end of the 4th really swung the fight in his favour as Gus seemed badly hurt by it and slowed down alot in the final round.

Can't think of one off the top of my head, but this is easily my favourite fight of the year if not for a long time, it just had it all. Massive props to Gus who I had serious doubts about leading into this fight.

Yeah I was totally wrong about Gus too, he's better than first thought.

Great fight but 2nd to Grice/Bermudez in FOTY imo.

Barao proves he's a P4P G yet again tho.
