Re: UFC 161: Barao vs. Wineland

Push Hunt v JDS back to 161 if the American government still deems Hunt to dangerous to let in for 160.

Re: UFC 161: Barao vs. Wineland

Feel like since Vitor is on a hot streak and didn't really suffer any damage in his fight with Rockhold they might have the main event involve him. Maybe even Lyoto Machida vs. Alexander Gustafsson, either way i don't see any of the other fights on this card getting promoted to the mainevent.

Hendo vs. Suga Shad is the new main event as Barao is definitely out now.

Soa Palelei was taken out of his fight with Stipe Miocic, Roy Nelson is stepping in to replace him and with that news this fight will likely top off the main card to this show.

Soa got shafted big time. Busts his ass in a training camp, has all his coaches and sparring partners expecting/waiting on the payday from the fight only to get pulled from it and replaced. Hes not even replaced by a big name, people know Roy more because he's fat and hairy than him being a serious fighter. Now Soa has to rely on one of the HWs on 161 to get injured just so he can fight and make use of his camp and pay his camp. UFC should at least pay him what he would have got for showing up.

Eh, I disagree. Sure he stands out because of the big belly and wild hair and beard, but I think it's pretty disrespectful to say people don't know him as much for his fighting ability.

Main event is only 3rds, thankfully.

I don't think we need an extra 10mins of Rashad and Hendo pawing a jab at each other.

Yeah that is rather disrespectful to say that about Roy Nelson. The guy has been doing big things lately. Been on a tear knocking people out left and right. And to say that he is only known for being fat and hairy? No.

What do you have against him?

I'm not saying he's a bum, he's certainly not elite though and as soon as you say Roy Nelson/hear the name most people think of his gut. His appearance gets more media attention than his fights.

Only idiots concentrate on his look going into a fight, but by the time the fight is over people will always be talking about his skills.

Well look at who they put in front of him. Other than JDS and Mir they only put scrubs against him... so yeah they won't be talking too much about his fights cause they don't give him the high profile fights. The guy is legit in grappling, lethal striker, extremely durable. They just gotta give him tougher competition again.

To be fair though he's lost all his high profile fights, gets sent back to smash scrubs to make him look good again.

And the same goes for Bisping, he is still a viable draw that gets more eyes on PPVs. It doesn't mean he is some scrub, he gets a title shot wouldn't be the worst. Not like he is Jeff Monson or worse......Tim Sylvia.
