The stakes just got a lot higher.

Dana White: St-Pierre v Silva heading for Dallas

http://www.espn.co.uk/ufc/sport/stor...Ltey6zQ1PG7.99

UFC president Dana White may just have guaranteed Georges St-Pierre a few extra fans at UFC 154 after revealing victory will likely lead to a showdown with Anderson Silva.

The fight that MMA fans have wanted for years may finally be happening, with White even able to discuss the likely venue and weight category. Previous talk from the president regarding the fight has never been so detailed, giving credence to his claim that the super-fight may finally happen. St-Pierre is scheduled to fight Condit in November in a bout that marks his long-awaited return from a knee injury. All eyes will be on the welterweight's ability to still dominate his weight class, despite the most serious injury of his career.

Silva currently has no opponent, and is not expected to fight again this year. He also has no outstanding challenger to his middleweight crown at present, so the timing of a GSP super-fight carries weight.

"I think we're pretty close,"White told UFC Tonight. "If Georges St-Pierre beats Condit, that could be the next fight.

"These guys want to fight each other now. I think that if you're a fighter and you've dominated as long as Anderson has,and you've been great as long as Georges has, you finally say: 'You know what? I want to test myself; I think I can beat this guy.'"

But what about the weight issue? St-Pierre has always been hesitant about moving up to middleweight, while Silva has never looked too prepared to shed 15lbs to get down to welterweight.

"At one point, it sounded like Anderson wanted to go to 170 and wanted to take Georges' welterweight title, that's what he was talking at one point," White said. "Then it was 180 catchweight because Georges doesn't want to go to 85, he's going to stay at 70, and he goes, "If I have to make the move to go to 85, I'd have to stay at 85.'

"So we figured that a 180lb catchweight makes sense." And which arena will stage the biggest fight in UFC history? White predicts that honour will go to the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, which holds over 100,000 fans.

"If that fight happens, it will probably happen at the Dallas, Texas, stadium," White said.

If Condit beats him, he'll be a bigger heel than Jon Jones now

I can't think of a bigger fight in history, considering how dominant they've both been, it's like the MMA version of Pac/Floyd.

Mannnnn... you know everyone is hoping that GSP beats Condit now cause if it happens... this fight is pretty much guaranteed. And luckily we won't have all this crap like Pac/Floyd had that resulted in their fight being called off like I dunno how many times.

This has to happen. And in the Dallas stadium? Very very nice. Would have to wonder what would be on the undercard cause every fight is going to feel like an undercard fight compared to GSP/Silva.

Come on GSP.

Fedor/Lesnar has been rumoured as a co-main.

They would need a solid all round card to even be close to selling out Cowboys Stadium, most Anderson's fights in Las Vegas don't draw well and GSP is a huge draw but mostly in Canada.

It's proll likely there will be another title fight (or two) to shore the undercard up.

The GSP/Silva fight meant so much more a few years ago when both guys pretty much cleared out their divisions, but it's still one of the biggest if not the biggest fights to make in the UFC.

Now that Dana has said Machida has to fight once more before getting a title shot, the Machida/Sonnen fight is almost a given.

I will definitely be cheering on GSP for this fight now as I really want to see GSP vs. Silva. I agree that it isn't as big a fight as it would have been a couple of years ago but it is still massive. I struggle to see how GSP will be able to cope with the size of Silva but hopefully we get to find out. Would be crazy to run in a 100k seat stadium, would need a really strong main card to fill the stadium.

That is such a sick poster. This fight will be pretty good, Condit will win if he can stuff the take downs of GSP. Than again maybe GSP's striking is not so sloppy any more. GSP looked bad in the Shields fight. GSP can't be too aggressive though if he is might be lights out for him.

The closer this fight gets and the more I think that Condit can win this. I just don't know how GSP will come back after such a long injury layoff and I just feel like Condit could have the edge here. I want GSP to win if it will indeed lead to a GSP/Silva fight but I just don't know.

That posters a lie, Condits not a Champion, he's just the contender, Champions fight, they don't sit on the sidelines waiting a year for someone to get healthy.

And by collide he means one guy will go for takedowns and the other gets on his bicycle.

Doubt GSP tries to stand with Condit.

GSP Is saying he plans on standing with Condit, but honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see Condit tag him also so yeah this will most definitely be 25 mins of usual GSP stuff. I'll be hoping otherwise though.
