The bold is an excellent point. Look at boxing alot of the fights end with such a little amount of confrontation and it's caused a decline of interest. The same thing will happen to MMA if you take away the slug fests.

Yea, and a lot of people who are desperate to defend the sport say things like 'Oh, you are just in it for blood and to see people get hurt!' and that's not it at all. I just want to see the two fighters engage in, you know, fighting. I don't think that's too much to ask
