Middleweight bout: Demian Maia vs. Mario Miranda
Lightweight bout: Kenny Florian vs. Gray Maynard
Welterweight bout: Nate Diaz vs. Marcus Davis

Preliminary card (Spike TV)

Welterweight bout: Nick Osipczak vs. Greg Soto
Welterweight bout: Mike Pierce vs. Amilcar Alves

BJ Penn gets his rematch against the first opponent to dethrone him in the lightweight division. Should be a great rematch with BJ Penn wanting revenge.

Couture facing boxing convert Toney will be interesting. Couture is nearing the end and Toney skills will be interesting.

Diaz and Florian also fighting makes it a decent card.

Super stoked for this card.

BJ wasn't truly himself IMO at UFC 112, there was just something wrong, and I think maybe he underestimated Frankie, but I think BJ will choke him out in round 3 again. I hope Kenflo can defeat undefeated Maynard because the winner is next in line for the LW belt and if Frankie wins, I don't think Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard is a money making PPV, unless it's a co-main event.

Never seen any of the Diaz brothers fight, but I'm interested to see Nate fight.

Randy vs. Toney. Toney is a horrible guy to represent Boxing, it's like sending Chuck against one of the legends of Boxing. Couture will win I think by UD, because I don't know what Toney's chin is like, and I'm sure Randy will take him down and control from there.

Penn had held the title for so long maybe he became complacent as champion. It must be tough to get yourself up each time whilst you are champion for two years straight. I think that Penn will be back stronger than ever and will regain the title.

I haven't seen that much of Maynard so I can't comment on him but if he did win the match would most likely be a co-mainevent.

Toney is just too old to be making the switch now. You want someone in their late twenties and in the middle of their career (like Lesnar was) in order to make a successful transition. I agree, Randy will take him down and control him on the ground and go for a submission.

Demian Maia vs. Mario Miranda has been added to this card. Maia lost his last fight against Anderson Silva trying to win his Middleweight Championship. He survived all five rounds but the judges all sided with Silva. Mario Miranda has only fought twice in the UFC winning one and losing one. He has a great pre-UFC record and so a win here will certainly move him a fight or two away from Anderson Silva.

Dan Miller vs. John Salter has also been confirmed for this PPV. Dan Miller has lost his last three fights after winning his previous three in the UFC. He really needs a win here to keep his contract and Salter on the other hand is quite new to UFC and will be looking to build on his 1-1 UFC record.

Dan Miller went from being a Co-Main Event at UFC 144 to being Prelims not on Spike TV. He seriously needs a win or else he's being cut.

I hope Demian Maia can pick up a win though, to boost him back in the middleweight division and maybe get a rematch with Marquardt or someone else.

Maia won a boring fight. He gassed in the third but Miranda did nothing at all to capitalise on it. Maia won by unanimous decision due to his constant takedowns.

Couture easily won by submission like I predicted. Didn't take long, three minutes into the first round. Toney had no takedown defence and seemed to want to rely just on boxing. He certainly won't get another UFC fight, Couture did what everyone expected of him.

Edgar vs Penn up next.

Edgar completely dominated Penn tonight. This wasn't a fluke or controversial win, it was a thrasing by Edgar. He took down Penn at will and Penn could do nothing to stop him. Edgar won all five rounds easily and got the unanimous decision.

Maynard vs Edgar is set then for the LW title.

So the card is over and was decent.

I'm just going to say it now, no offense to anyone who lives in beantown, but the Boston crowd sucks. A vegas crowd would go apeshit everytime frankie and bj exchanged but nothing made them go nuts other then couture vs. toney which i guess was expected.

So Lauzon got a one-sided fight win over Rudiger. Was a sick armbar I must admit.

Diaz and Davis won fight of the night which I think they deserved. really nate diaz is an underrated fighter imo that is great on the ground and striking, i think he just got caught in the beginning and davis capitalized. then again, diaz was acting like a dumbass taunting davis. davis not wanting to tapout at home so he goes to sleep and yves stops it like 10 seconds after he's out.

pissed gray beat kenflo, but like dana said, kenflo chokes in big fights, and i dont consider guida or gomi big fights. there were so many shots for kenny to just go in and throw at gray but i guess he was too worried that gray would shoot during that time. Kenny had like the last 20 seconds to do something but didn't which was weird.

damien maia pretty much owned mario miranda but im giving it up to miranda for getting out of those armbars so well. then again his legs were free. I thought it was cool to see Anderson Silva in Miranda's corner, didn't know he trained at black house, or if it was just with Anderson. Maia failed to do any submissions but got close. Don't know what's next for him, maybe a rematch with Marquardt or with Palhares.

Randy shows no effort to get James Toney down and he makes him tap. expected it to be quicker and for them to exchange like once but i guess not. Toney with the boxers stance. show of respect after.

and the main event was awesome imo. im neither a fan of frankie or BJ but just seeing BJ get destroyed by that was weird and cool. Frankie was just so fast and did a really good job on his feet and on the ground even in the mount too. Some of those takedowns were well like the one that reminded me of Randy/Gonzaga in round 1. I thought when frankie kicked the back of BJ's legs and he fell was awesome. When BJ was on frankies back it was close for a rear naked but frankie got out of that well and back into the mount again.

So big ups to Frankie for winning. Now we get Frankie/Gray which I think should co-main event gsp/kos, chael/silva 2, or shogun/evans.

You can't sell that as a main event imo.

but yeah, decent card, not as good as 116 or 117, but better then 114 or 115. now on to Mir and Cro Cop!!!!!!!!!!!!
