I used to like Tyler Black when he first broke into the main event scene. Then as some time passed by, I realized that Black's moveset is a compilation of many different wrestlers' big moves.

Has anyone else noticed this? I mean, I look at CM Punk and how he stole afew moves from KENTA, and I think that's not the best thing ever, but ok, I'll give him a pass on that cause atleast he's only stealing from one guy. Yet he gets shitted on by so many ppl. However, Black steals big moves from a series of ppl and he gets a by?

Let's take a look at the big moves he's "borrowed" from current wrestlers: AJ's Flying Forearm, AJ's Pele kick, Aries's kick to the head-Brainbuster-450 combination (kick to the head-Small Package Driver-Phoenix Splash), Brock Lesnar's F-5.

I've also noticed (and am quite sick of) him stealing his opponent's moves in high profile matches. Most notably: He borrowed heavily from Austin Aries's move pool when they face each other at Final Battle 2008. At Final Battle 2009, he "channeled" Bryan Danielson and Jimmy Jacobs and used the End Time, The Cattle Mutilation, and the MMA Elbows. And I'm not quite sure, but I vaguely remember using McGuinness's 3 finishers against him aswell.

It really irritates me because he gets away w/ this w/o any backlash from the fans unlike CM Punk. It bothers me even more because when I was thinking about this, I go to the ROH website and what do I see? I see Tyler Black w/ Austin Aries in the Last Chancery. Why is he allowed to get away w/ this shit? Am I the only one pissed off about this?

I searched up some of his other indy stuff from before ROH and found some really amazing stuff such as the somersault tope amongst other moves. Why can't he just stick to his own moves?

Thoughts, opinions, etc?

I never really noticed till you brought this up and I agree, he should try make himself off his own moves, not others. It pissed me off when I read that he'd done cattle mutilation and MMA elbows like hes even in AmDrags league. When he began I thought hed be awesome but I can't stand black now. I never really noticed in the past.

What Quake said.

I hadn't really figured that out, but I did notice the cattle mutilation during Final Battle. I wasn't pissed, but I was like :smh.

But the backlash thing is totally true. All my friends who watch both puroeso and American wrestling complain that CM Punk is nothing more than a carbon copy of KENTA from the gear to the move set. But this is just wow. They need to have Black vs Everywrestlerherippedoff so that he can experience how the moves are -really- done.

And another thing about Black. I have a friend who calls him nothing more than John Cena's ROH Counterpart. Lately, I'm starting to believe him.

Tyler Black is an overrated spot monkey. He's basically the epitome of what ROH has become.

For the first few years, it was exciting to see these crazy over the top spots and high impact finishers & 60 minute time limit draws and five star quality tag matches.

But now, since EVERY PPV and EVERY show they do HAS to have every match be a Match of the Year candidate, and every spot HAS to be the most amazing thing ever, it's lost its effect. And the blind ROHbots who eat up everything that is fed to them and sing ROH's praises like its the only pure wrestling company on the planet don't help it's reputation either.

It's getting to the point where ROH fans are worse mouth breathers than WWE marks. And Tyler Black steals moves from everybody because he's trying to be the ultimate ROH star. The total package that can do everyones moves from the past, present and future, but has none of his own.

Lmao, agreed with the Cena/Black comment.

Also agree with Quintastic, ROH really over did the 60min draws and huge spots and whatnot, when you'd see thrm you'd think "holy crap" now its jus like "meh, didnt we see that not long ago".

Can't believe guys that talk down of Punk yet are huge Tyler Black fans, its Blue.

I have always secretly disapproved of Punk doing the GTS. But Tyler Black is ridiculous however. Not a big fan. Even in D.I.F.H, I always like Jimmy Jacobs better than Black. As far as the moves are concerned, I don't see how the other wrestlers don't confront him about ALWAYS using their moves

Yeah! That's exactly what I was trying to say! =D

Also, I'm tired of Black's man bikini. That thing is too freaking small. >_>

I don't really care if you steal moves, just don't steal the finishers. I know the buckle bomb isn't the most unique move, however i do like with the kick to the head combo. As well as the small package driver. So those are Black's main moves imo.

Also Final Battle was a 60 minute match so Black had to pull out every move he can think of. I didn't mind it. I wouldn't want to see it on a regular basis.

This is sort of a off topic, but what does everyone think of Tyler Black vs Austin Aries AGAIN at the 8th anniversary show, after the less than stellar reaction their draw at Final Battle got. Me personally think this would have been a great main event for the LA show. I do like the concept of 3 judges. Not sure on their role in the match will be, but it adds another dimension. Just not good for NYC.

I say have Black vs Aries in LA with the 3 judges, Strong acidently cost Black the match. In NYC it's Aries vs Strong as in the main event, and Black vs Brian Kendrick. Black goes full circle with his heel turn in NYC, costing Strong his "13th last title shot" Then in Detroit it's either Aries vs. Richards/Hero, and Black vs. Strong in a stipulation match.

I'm so sick of Aries Vs Black, theyve been going at it since AOTF was around and now Black is just gettibgs repetitive title shots. I agree with Montana, would have had them have one last match with the 3 judges in LA. 8th Anniversary should have been Aries vs Strong for the belt since theyve been there so long and Black vs Kendrick since its never been done, itd be fresh and black could turn heel if he lost. Would be good imo.

LOL Tyler Black: I don't need you. I don't need any of you.

If Tyler Black doesn't win it this time he's never gonna win it and by the time he does no one will give a shit. By all accounts he should have won it at Final Battle.

Fucking Aries/Black matches. It becomes like Cena/Orton matches, after a while no one really wants to see it. Whoever said Black vs Kendrick, i totally agree. It's something fresh and Black could in fact turn heel afterwards

Pardon the bump.

I think Tyler Black should drop the title. I don't like him as the face of ROH. I believe there are far better wrestlers in ROH that can carry ROH better.
  • Chris Hero
  • Austin Aries
  • Roderick Strong
  • Davey Richards
  • Christopher Daniels
A future world champion is Kenny King. Although I don't think he is ready now, in a year he will be ready.
