That really, really sucks. You had basically become the top booker here so it's shit timing. Everything was looking good too. Hopefully you can keep going in the near future.Headfirst For Hardcore said:I don't know if this is a definite, but for now, I think I'm done with BTB. No, there's no major break or getting tired of what I'm doing right now. My fucking idiot fucking brother fucking sweeped the fucking computer last night. So everything's fucking gone from porn to BTB stuff to music to programs, everything's fucking gone. I'll try to get my feet on the ground, but as of now, PRIDE looks like it's going.
It's clearly a matter of opinion, although it has become an annoyance to me that in almost every thread we are seeing people saying recaps are better. Great, that's your opinion! Now stop running around and shouting thatto the rest of the section, because what they write is also a personal choice of theirs, and it all comes down to their opinion. No one should be attempting to alter their opinion.WCW Rules said:I prefer reading recaps, TBH. Full length matches on weekly shows is, IMO, a large waste of time. Not to mention, they're not even full length because what somebody writes in one paragraph doesn't necessarily equate to any concrete amount of in ring time. It's an estimation. I also prefer the storytelling aspect of booking, which is why I embrace recaps as they allow the story to be told without boring the readers with uninteresting and long matches. My philosophy towards weekly shows; they're used to further intensify and build storylines, nothing more, nothing less. The occasional 'great' match here and there, but I believe that's their purpose. Now, if the BTB is focused more so on wrestling, that's a different story, but still, they generally have PPVs anyway, so the philosophy can apply there as well. Kudos to the guys who can write long matches and still get their works done on time, though; I used to be able to do so, but not anymore, not with my unfortunate 'perfectionist' syndrome running about. This not only applies to my booking, but my other writing ventures as well.
You're not the first one to point it out, nor are you the first one to agree with it. DC's comments were probably ignored by the majority of the chat room, because we have said this before. Unofrtunately, it seems that nothing is ever done. I don't agree that everyone should have to do a WCW length review, because some people will struggle with it. Though I do encourage everyone to do a match by match, promo by promo analysis. It isn't that hard, although I think I am the only one who does it (HFH does rarely).PARANoIR said:Indeed. The review system here in my opinion hinders the forum big time in my opinion, simply because with such a mediocre review format in place, bookers don't improve as much as they potentially could because they're not getting any decent feedback of any real substance.
Funny thing is, that's probably one of WCW's shorter reviews.
Diesel will probably jump up and down and say he dies it too, but his revoews have shit all in them to help anyway. They just say: 4th best match for me, and things along those lines.
