I think I just mentioned in another thread that I'm surprised Wrestlemania
hasn't been expanded into a 2 day pay-per-view. I mean...they could
spread out the card...technically have 2 main events and pack in more
musical guests and other pointless crap no one wants to see.
This is where we come to a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE problem and that is the Part Timer problem.
Part Timers piss me off!
Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki Bella for the WWE Smackdown Live Womens Championship
Wouldn't Becky Lynch vs. smurf Bella for the title be a better and more high profile match?
No offense to Alexa...but I'll be surprised if the WWE let Alexa walk into Wrestlemania as
the champion. I mean...it would be awesome...but...it would still surprise me.
Sasha Banks "Big Match" teased by Meltzer a few months ago, early guesses were Paige VanZant however WWE teased a Stephanie McMahon Vs Sasha Banks feud on Raw last week and even uploaded a video on YT questioning is they would face. Recently the current plan however has been Sasha/Charlotte/Bayley/Nia at Mania so who knows.
Okay...as long as the Sasha/Stephanie Match has something important at stake...
Or
Perhaps they could have Charlotte/Sasha/Bayley in a Triple Threat Ladder Match?
[HASHTAG]#sashadeservesbetter[/HASHTAG]
Realistically lets look at it this way, the Womens matches are unlikely to be cut since the Smackdown Women's title match has Nikki Bella in it and it looks good for WWE to have 3 Women's Matches (Possibly 4).
Good...
Raw Womens TItle could've had a slow burn Sasha Vs Bayley over the Women's Title and have them steal the show
Yeah...that would have been great...
[HASHTAG]#sashadeservesbetter[/HASHTAG]
Recently the current plan however has been Sasha/Charlotte/Bayley/Nia at Mania
the Women's Fatal four way would pale in comparison to the triple threat last year mainly due to Nia Jax being forced in
You know...they could fix that problem by...Oh...I don't know...
HAVING EMMALINA RETURN AND ATTACK ALL THREE
HORSEWOMEN BECAUSE SHE'S JEALOUS OF THEM AND
HAVE HER FIGHT ALL 3 OF THEM AT WRESTLEMANIA!!!11!

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!11!

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match
What about a RAW vs. SmackDown 6 Man Ladder Match?

Dean Ambrose, The Miz, Baron Corbin
Sami Zayn, Rusev, Big Cass

3 Faces and 3 Heels who all deserve to be on the card.

Of course if the Miz is wrestling Daniel Bryan...then just throw Ziggler in there.
This just isn't going well at all.
Look...and I'm the first one to complain...especially about
the terrible booking of the Women's Division...but looking
on the positive side...whatever they decide...the card and
the overall show will no doubt be better than Wrestlemania
32...right?

Alright. I'll give it a shot.

- AJ Styles vs John Cena for the WWE World Championship

- Kevin Owens vs Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship
Other options:
*KO facing Y2J for the title if Y2J stays all the way till Mania. Otherwise they'll do KO/Y2J sooner, like after Survivor Series.
*Kevin Owens facing the returning Finn Bálor, which is something I'd love to see.

- Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman

- Brock Lesnar vs Shane McMahon
Other options:
*Brock Lesnar vs Samoa Joe or Lesnar vs Cesaro, which would be a pipe dream.

- Seth Rollins vs Triple H

- The Undertaker vs Randy Orton if the turn is legit, which I doubt. Otherwise, Idk. Taker's WM opponent probably won't be that interesting anyway, so I don't really care, tbh.

- The Miz vs Daniel Bryan
Okay, it's probably not happening, but if they do want to give DB his final match, then I guess it might be with The Miz since their feud is still pushed on TV... And I'm loving it, by the way.
Or, they could have Bryan face Nakamura in his last match, but that's a pipe dream that won't be happening.
If The Miz doesn't end up working a match with DB (and if he doesn't move to RAW), I'm sure they'll remain connected in a way and DB will choose someone to represent him or something like that.

- Ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship

- I have no idea what happens with the US title and the Cruiserweight title. There might be a triple threat or a fatal 4-way in the works, Idk.

- Becky Lynch vs Nikki Bella for SmackDown Women's Championship
Other options:
*Becky Lynch vs Asuka
*Becky Lynch vs Charlotte in a Champion vs Champion match

- Charlotte Flair vs Ronda Rousey

- Sasha Banks vs Bayley for RAW Women's Championship
Other options:
*Sasha vs Bayley vs Charlotte

- Dean Ambrose vs Baron Corbin. That's a bit random, I know.

- The New Day vs Enzo & Big Cass for RAW Tag Team Championship.

- The Usos vs American Alpha for SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

- The 10-Women Tag Team match will probably happen just like at this year's Mania.

- Big Show vs Shaquille O'Neal

- Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

That's all I've got for now.
um hello Cesaro & Sheamus are the RAW Tag Team Champions.

Lemme just point this out in January and get a warning shot in before we all get scared...

Wrestlemania is the most important show of the year with the card/buildup that matters the least.
It doesn't matter to WWE, it's the one show they put on that random people will watch. The name alone draws casuals.
They don't have to put in as much effort building it up as they do any other show because of that, but because the name WRESTLEMANIA carries a tremendous burden of expectation (WWE's greatest weakness), we often wind up feeling the way we do.

So don't get your hopes too far up.

I've been coming to grips with the whole part time issue myself. Old people know Rain as the Legend Killer. I always hated watching PartTimerMania every year, but this year... it just feels a little different. Looking at WM28 and this year (assuming Taker/Cena happens, which we'll see) it's another case of five part-timers in the top six spots...

Guess so much of it might be the story involved. Cena's run at the Best of All Time vs the greatest Mania performer of all time. Seth Rollins getting his revenge on the guy who kept Raw's main event scene in a god-awful boring ass holding pattern for the last 6+ months - I mean, the guy who screwed him out of the title on that one Raw that one time.... okay Brock vs Goldberg is a classic OMG LEGENDS! BUY! case and that's really when it becomes an issue for them.

And hey, it's not like in 2016 they haven't tried to push new talent. Or 2015. Or 2014 even. Hell it's a stark contrast to what I was talking about in that Ryback thread when Sheamus and ADR were getting force-pushed... (I never replied to sry Grievous need to get on that)... They just don't have the first idea of what they're doing.

According to Meltzer the current card being discussed is...

-Goldberg vs Lesnar
-Taker vs Reigns
-HHH vs Rollins
-Jericho vs Owens
-Wyatt vs Orton
-Show vs Shaq
-Charlotte vs Bayley vs Sasha vs Nia

With neither Owens or Styles having the belts

You know, honestly, I could take Reigns if he's in a match with either Taker or Cena for some reason. So if it's Reigns vs Taker, I think I'll be cool with it.

I guess it's because I've never been a big Taker fan so seeing Reigns go up against someone I'm not really that invested in won't bother me as much if Reigns wins.

Well, I did go with these for myself. I feel like I might get a few correct (I hope so)

Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (C) VS The Undertaker (Undertaker wins the Rumble and picks Roman. I do hope for a heel turn doe)

WWE World Championship Match: AJ Styles (C) VS John Cena (Cena wins at the Rumble to become a 16 time World champion. AJ Styles wins the EC match for the WWE title and so it ends up as John Cena VS AJ Styles. Cena will win to become a 17 time champion since that feels like a bigger moment by breaking the record. I would still have AJ look strong. Maybe he has his feet on the ropes at the Rumble match.)

United States Championship Match: Chris Jericho (C) VS Kevin Owens. (I feel like they will both face off once Kevin loses the Universal title. This is also a big match for the United States title. I would have Kevin win since Chris will be leaving WWE soon enough)

Goldberg VS Brock Lesnar (100% going to happen from the looks of it)

Seth Rollins VS Triple H (Triple H seems to be messing with Seth again. I see a match taking place at Mania with Seth going over)

The Miz VS Daniel Bryan (Yeah, this is a wild match for me. On one hand I see it going down, but on the other I don't think WWE will risk it. I personally would love to see him in this match and maybe another run, but WWE seem like they don't want that at all.

Bray Wyatt VS Randy Orton (Yeah, I see them both going into a feud. I think Bray should win here)

IC Championship Ladder Match: Dean Ambrose (C) VS Dolph Ziggler VS Baron Corbin VS Shelton Benjamin VS Kalisto VS James Ellsworth VS Apollo Crews (Meh, added Shelton in for fun. I would probably have James win here for the lolz)

Brand VS Brand Match: Sami Zayn VS Luke Harper (Easy switch. Could have Luke in the ladder match. I do feel like they will host one Brand VS Brand match doe)

Andre The Giant Battle Royal: Too many people to list. Braun Strowman wins.

The Big Show VS Shaq O'neal (Yep, I see this going down.

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows (C) VS The Revival (Just going to throw this in. We could have both the Smackdown tag champions and the Raw tag champions in a Brand VS Brand match)

Special appearances by HBK, Stone Cold, The Rock and Conor Mcgregor

Those 5 matches were pretty much confirmed months ago, tbh.

As for Taker vs Reigns. Yeah, it could happen. But, I think Taker might also go after whoever wins the EC. Either Styles or Cena. Cena is more likely.

But, who does Reigns face if Taker goes after Styles/Cena? Strowman or Bálor. Bálor, preferably.

As far as that Fatal 4-Way goes, it's a possibility and I guess I wouldn't mind it. But, I'd much rather have Charlotte have her PPV streak broken in a singles match.

All in all, gotta love the unpredictability of the Rumble, man!

I guess it's because I've never been a big Taker fan so seeing Reigns go up against someone I'm not really that invested in won't bother me as much if Reigns wins.

Guess my biggest issue is more with the match itself. Part of it feels a little too real, ya know? I don't want to see the old man taking stiff shots and Superman Punches for 20 minutes. Reigns is a weird one to work with in that regard.
Also that both guys feel like they need to be carried... Taker's a guy who knows how to structure a match but we've seen the last three years how much he struggles to physically get through one and that someone has to keep the action going.
Hell at least it's better Roman than Strowman...
But if Undertaker's facing a RAW guy, I've worried about Taker working one of the indy guys like Styles/Balor/Owens who can deliver the fast-paced action, like there could be a chemistry issue there (less so with AJ Styles, because GOAT)
Though the Balor match could be cool because the entrances and a lot of sweet spots you could do...
...but to Prince's idea it's better to do Reigns vs Balor since THEY WOULD FINALLY TURN HIM HEEL... nah, probably turn Finn even though Balor's tailor-made to be a lifelong WWE babyface (thought so with Neville too though)

Also can't help that the rumored idea of "Cena wins title 16 on Sunday, Styles wins the EC to win it back, then Styles/Cena at WM for title win 17" could happen. Yeah please no.

Okay...so...Cena & Nikki Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse with it being Nikki Bella's last match...
Apparently her neck is shot again...and Cena is pushing for this booking.

This may also explain Naomi's sudden push, the hiring of Mickie James and when you
actually look back...her feud with Carmella finished up suddenly with little said afterwards
(In fact Carmella hasn't mentioned Nikki or been seen near her since TLC), she missed the
Survivor Series match and was then put in a program with the most experienced female
wrestler on blue brand Natalya who seems to have "inherited" the same motivation as
Carmella for her dislike of Nikki.

I mean it makes sense to put Nikki in a feud with the safest opponent if her neck is
shot...and say what you want about Natalya...but she may-be the technically gifted
women on the entire WWE roster.

In fact...Nikki has hardly wrestled since TLC...in fact...the Royal Rumble tag match
"may-be" the only "proper" match she's been involved with since TLC.

Also...may-be the Carmella/Ellsworth angle was booked as "punishment" for Carmella
if she was responsible for re-injuring Nikki's neck.

Perhaps John Cena "pulled some strings" and this Ellsworth angle is the first step towards
Carmella being "buried"?

If you stack all the "Booking Evidence" together...they may turn out to be more than a
rumor...and I have to say...its really, really sad if it is.

I've really grown to love Nikki Bella...mainly through watching Total Divas/Bellas...but
I was shocked to see how good she was in the ring when/after she returned at SummerSlam.

I really do hope this is just a rumor...but...if I was to take any positives from this possibly
being true...it is that may-be...just may-be Asuka will eventually be drafted to the blue brand.

Updated Wrestlemania Card Prediction:
Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title:
Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton for the World Title:
Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns:
Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin for the Intercontinental Title:
Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn for the United States Title:
Triple H vs. Seth Rollins:
Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley vs. Nia Jax for the RAW Women's Title:
Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka for the SmackDown Women's Title:
John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse:
Neville vs. Rich Swan vs. T.J Perkins vs. THE Brian Kendricks for the Cruiserweight Title:
Gallows & Anderson vs. The New Day for the RAW Tag Team Titles:
American Alpha vs. Kane & James Ellsworth for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles: :p
The Big Show vs. Shaquille O'Neal
The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal: (Which I would have Samoa Joe Win)
Becky Lynch vs. Mickie James:

And There we go...
