Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesaleâ€￾ by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

I kind of want to see this more and more now. If only for the reason that it follows the book much closer than Arnold's version and it isn't trying to be a complete remake.

I was to at first because I love Arnold's version. What helps me want to see this one now is the cast, and then the fact that they are not trying to make Total Recall again, they are sticking close to the book and for me, that helps. I am going to try to go in with an open mind.

have only seen bits and pieces of the original, but just looking at the cast leads me to believe this'll be more intelligent than the original at least. Interested.

It's a remake. I don't know of any remakes that were better than the original except for True Grit. Still will probably see it though.

It is a remake in the sense it has been done before, yes. They are following the book closer now though and it, although similar, is different.

Trailer is out, can't say for sure that I'm stoked about this but any film with Biel and Beckinsale can't be all bad. Plus Cranston as Cohagen is a great move.

I for sure will be checking this out. Not with high expectations but I think this could be great.
