I didn't mean you specifically, and I use the term hater loosely. I just get annoyed when people try and discredit Punk's popularity by attributing it to someone else. It hints at 'haterism' because, as I said, everybody ultimately owes their popularity to someone else, it's not a condition special to Punk. But it seems we basically agree, it's just me who's a fan and you who isn't so much.

I never said I wasn't a fan, although I do love the dig at the end of the post. It's my kind of style. Build me up the whole post and then drop me off the cliff at the end. To clarify I said I don't think Punk portrays himself as being grateful, I've never said I didn't enjoy his work. I'm a fan of his matches, and I enjoy him working hard to keep Randy Savage's memory alive through his use of the double sledge and the elbow drop. We do both basically agree, and I like chatting with you. It's just that I'm much cooler overall.

Can anyone deny Punk is a dick?

Nope. Also the dude should be slut shamed or something for banging that string of chicks. He probably reels them in with the whole "My dad's mean blah blah blah" thing.

Honky Tonk Man and Jim Cornette are the masters of shoot interviews. They never cease to entertain and I've seen more from them than I have with anyone else, so they're the only two I can recommend overall. Nash and Waltman are funny, too. Need to see more of them.

As for the Punk/Hardy debate, I agree with Laura and Seabs that while the Hardy feud helped, it definitely wasn't a "make or break" moment for Punk's career as a top guy. Someone can help you reach a certain level, but you need the talent to get there too, and furthermore, you need the talent to maintain and hold on to that position. Punk would not be at the level he is at now if not for his own talent and ability. Another example if Triple H/Mick Foley. Foley helped make HHH's career as a main eventer BIG TIME (he had already won the championship before then, but he got the most over as a top heel starting with the Foley feud) but would HHH have been able to hold onto that spot for this many years and become a top drawing superstar if he didn't have much merit of his own? Of course not. Foley helped, but HHH would have become one of the WWE's top stars without him eventually anyway. His career was moving forward just fine before the Foley feud in early 2000 came along. The same is very much true of Punk IMO.

Can anyone name anything Punk did in the company before the Hardy feud? Seriously, don't look it up.

Won the world title from Edge, out popped both DX and the hardies at Survivor Series one year. Won the ECW title, MITB X2 although since one of them lead into the Hardy feud you could discount that. Tag Team champ after his first world title reign and IC Champ too. The dude was a triple crown winner if the WHC was counted before the feud.
