Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling will air its 9/11 Ryogoku KFC show live.

Those with DDT Universe can watch the show here.

Opening bell for the event is 12:00 pm on Saturday September 11th in Japan. That's 11:00 pm Friday night September 10th Eastern US time and 8:00 pm Friday, September 10th Pacific. (I believe it’s 4:00 am Saturday, September 11th in the U.K.)

If you are new to Tokyo Joshi and would like to know more about the promotion you can check out my "Beginner's guide to Tokyo Joshi" It’s just slightly out of date however it should give you the gist of things.

9/11 card & notes:

Main Event
– Singles match

  • Miyu Yamashita VS Yuki Aino
Undercard:

  • Tag team match – NEO-Biishikigun (Saki-sama & Mei San-Michelle) VS Nao Kakuta & Neko Haruna
  • Tag match – Shoko Nakajima & Arisu Endo VS Miu Watanabe & Yuki Arai
  • Tag match – Hikari Noa & Harajuku Pom VS Raku & Suzume
  • Tag match – Mizuki & Moka Miyamoto VS Hyper Misao & Yuki Kamifuku
  • Singles match – Maki Itoh VS Tenma Nodoka
  • Singles match – Yuka Sakazaki VS Kaya Toribami
notes

  • Tokyo Joshi will return to Ryogoku KFC hall with a 7 match card.
  • The match order is subject to be different from how I have listed it.
  • The main event for this show will likely be a singles match between Miyu and Yuki Aino. In the main event of the September 4th Itabashi show, to the shock of many Yuki was able to hit the ultimate burning venus on champion Miyu and pin her for the win in a tag match. Now, Miyu has requested a singles match against Yuki to try to atone for the loss. Surprisingly, this will be the first ever singles match between the two. Normally during a ToJo rookie’s formative year plus, they will be slotted in singles matches against the various veterans of the roster to toughen up and to learn. However, for whatever reason, Yuki was never slotted against Miyu during this time. So this is an exciting opportunity for her to measure her skills against the ace of the promotion. As for Miyu, she has seemingly been in a strange headspace lately and it has been affecting her performance. During her tag team bouts, one would normally expect any losses the team take be the result of Maki, her current regular tag partner, being pinned or submitted and taking the loss. Or at the very least, a mixture of both members of the team. Except, in each of the losses that the pair have taken, Miyu has been the one to eat the losses. The wisdom of her challenging someone who just defeated her while she’s in such an odd state is questionable but she was able to defeat Saki-sama for the first time in a similar situation so perhaps it will work out for her. Looking at the match itself. Yuki has firmly established her fight style as speedy tank type. If she’s not running you over with full force shoulderblocks she’s slamming you, dropping on you or has you in a submission. Miyu on the other hand best excels at ranged striking. Her kicks are infamous and hated among the girls of the roster with the most dangerous in her arsenal being her running bicycle knee, Crash Rabbit Heat, and her spinning heel kick that she’s named “skull kick.” Since Yuki is slightly shorter that Miyu, staying away from her kicks is impossible if she wants to do any damage, thus her best option is to keep the distance in close quarters as much as possible to prevent Miyu from using her fiercest attacks. Even still, with this strategy Miyu is still a threat. Her kicks are her strongest weapon but her hand striking, wrestling and submissions are no cake walk to endure. Yuki will have to be careful and make no mistakes if she hopes to take a victory here.
  • After nearly a month, NEO-Biishikigun returns to the ring. Here they will take on the team of a cat and a former cat. Nao Kakuta will team up with Neko Haruna to battle the haughty Gauls. While Neko is deeply familiar with the team, this will be Nao’s first time dealing with the heelish aristocrats. In Neko’s last encounter she was nearly made into a house pet when Mei became enamored with her. It took a great deal of scratching to mei’s face for her to change her tune. Will the young made remember the scratches or the cuteness? That’s the question. As for Nao, she’s not exactly a stranger to underhanded tactics herself, will she be able to defend herself from NEO-Biishikigun’s machinations? Will she be able to enact her own plans? How will she react to Tokyo Joshi’s strongest faction?
  • After being forced to skip several major matches due to contracting Coronavirus, Yuki Arai has a clean bill of health and is ready to return to the ring. At this show she will once again team with idol loving pro-wrestler Miu Watanabe as they take on the tiny team of Arisu Endo and Shoko Nakajima. This will be Yuki’s second experience with both opponents as she faced Arisu during her debut at the May 5th Kourakuen show, and she had the opportunity to wrestle the Big Kaiju during a tag match back in June. Yuki only has a limited number of matches under her belt and hasn’t wrestled since the beginning of August. How will she look coming in to this match and how much will Miu have to cover for her? Shoko defeated Miu during the semi-finals of the Princess Cup tournament so she’d be happy to get a win back here. And with both members of the idol team having a distinct height advantage over their opponents, will the kaiju and the zebra-lover be able to compensate for their disadvantages?
  • After a little bit of rearranging, Raku and Suzume will face Hikari and Pom at this show. Neither team has a great deal of experience working with one another but they’re all professionals so they’ll make it work. Raku and Hikari are of course intimately familiar with one another as they are constantly working together due to their idol activities. But the match will also pit Raku at odds wth superfriend Pom. Suzume has some experience against. Pom will always be pom so everyone watch your shins. This match has potential title implications for the International Princess championship as a challenger has yet to present themselves and Wrestle Princess 2 is mere few weeks away.
  • A tag match has been set pitting Mizuki and Moka against PaMi and Kamiyu. This match has some of the biggest chaos makers in the promotion in it so expect nonsense. Mizuki is evil incarnate, PaMi ALWAYS has convoluted master plan for every situation and Kamiyu, well, Kamiyu never ceases to shine in any circumstance (provided you can see it since she loves poking everyone in the eye). Moka is probably the most normal and well-adjusted member of the group. There’s no way to predict the kinds of antics that will occur in this kind of match but you can predict it will be fun.
  • Maki will be matched up against Nodoka. Yuki, Nodoka’s sister was able to pin Maki’s Wrestle Princess 2 opponent at last week’s show which by extension gave Maki a loss. So perhaps Maki is looking for some vindication by beating the sister of the wrestler that gave her a loss last week.
  • Kaya will have another singles match with an veteran senpai this week. This time around she will be facing the magical girl Yuka. Both of these women are light on their feet and can move and attack at high speeds. They both specialize in acrobatic rope work but of course Yuka has a great deal more experience. This will be a good challenge and learning experience for ToJo’s favorite bird.
  • Marika Kobashi is recuperating from an injury and will miss this show.
  • Rika Tatsumi has a family related commitment and will miss this show.
  • Mahiro Kiryu is recuperating from an injury and will miss this show.
  • It was announced in a press release that Mirai Maiumi was resigning from the company. Her last match was at the 9/4/2021 Itabashi green hall show. Mirai debuted on 5/3/2019 at Kourakuen Hall and spent 2 years and 4 months with the company during which time she had 2 Princess tag title challenges and an International Princess title challenge. She participated in 2 Tokyo Princess cups, the Max Heart tag team tournament earlier this year and a tournament to crown the vacant International Princess belt after it was vacated by Thunder Rosa due to the pandemic. She was chosen to co main event the 2nd special TJPW Inspiration show in a UWF rules match against Miyu Yamashita and was introduced at her debut by Satoru Sayama the original Tiger Mask.
  • Tokyo Joshi’s big show in Ota ward Gym, Wrestle Princess 2 is only a month away. The main event is a PuriPuri title match between the challenger, Tokyo Princess Cup 8 winner Maki Itoh, and PuriPuri champion Miyu Yamashita. No other matches have been announced at present but Yuki Arai is scheduled to appear. There are 4 more shows (including this one) before the big day.
  • Wrestle Universe has rolled out a new high definition player for live shows. The good news is that the player can show much higher quality than previous and has a multi-channel feature that allows for changing between different audio tracks if available. This means that you can change between English commentary and Japanese commentary when they are available. The bad news is that the new player does not currently seem compatible with the PS4 browser or numerous casting programs. There does seem to be a special method for using Chromecast and steps for which can be found on the DDT website. Hopefully this will be fixed for all platforms in the near future.
  • DDT and Tokyo Joshi have opened an international store. https://ddtstore.bigcartel.com/ Shirts currently available for order are the Sauna Club t-shirt, Yuka Sakazaki’s bastard chicken t-shirt and Saki Akai’s beautiful evolution t-shirt. More products will likely be made available soon.
  • 3 new t-shirts are available for pre-order at www.tjpw-store.com. The 3 designs are all related to Wrestle Princess 2 show with 1 being the official show t-shirt and 2 others with prints of the Wrestle Princess 2 show posters on them. The pre-order period for all 3 shirts ends at 11:59 pm on September 15th Japan time. Please note that the Japanese TJPW store does not ship internationally so international purchasers must use a 3rd party shipping service when ordering.

9/15 card & notes:

– 6 woman tag match

  • Miyu Yamashita, Miu Watanabe & Yuki Arai VS Maki Itoh, Shoko Nakajima & Moka Miyamoto
Undercard:

  • Tag team match – NEO-Biishikigun (Saki-sama & Mei San-Michelle) VS Mizuki & Harajuku Pom

  • 6 woman tag match – Yuka Sakazaki, Suzume & Neko Haruna VS Tenma Nodoka, Yuki Kamifuku & Arisu Endo
  • Singles match – Hyper Misao VS Kaya Toribami

notes

  • Tokyo Joshi will hold a rare weekday show in Shinjuku FACE consisting of 5 matches.
  • The match order is subject to be different from how I have listed it.
  • The main event will have a number of relationships converging in one match. Let’s address the big one first. Miyu and Maki will be on opposite sides of each other in this match which hasn’t happened in a while. This will help them gauge one another before their big match at Wrestle Princess 2. Miyu has seemingly gotten back into her groove and redeemed herself in her own eyes as well as the eyes of Maki after her devastating loss to Yuki Aino earlier this month. So Maki should expect to feel the full force of a focused Miyu in this match. Next let’s look at Shoko and Miu. It feels like these two have faces off a number of times since their epic singles in the Princess Cup. Shoko’s team was defeated at the hands of Miu this past weekend at KFC Hall and Shoko is likely looking for some redemption. Miu and Yuki are once again paired together which will make the Idol-loving Idol happy as a clam I’m sure. Speaking of Yuki she will have two big rivalries looking at her from the opposite corner. Maki defeated Yuki by submission in her first two matches in her wrestling career. First at Kourakuen Hall in her debut and next at CyberFight’s big collaboration show in June. While Yuki is probably the farthest thing from Maki’s mind at the moment, it wouldn’t be surprising if Maki was on the forefront of Yuki’s coming into this match. Yuki’s other major recent rival is Moka Miyamoto. Miyamoto is only slightly Yuki’s senior but the two have had a number of heated matches over the summer with both taking victories and losses to one another. At present, Yuki currently holds a singles match win and a tag match win on Moka and Moka has 2 tag wins over teams with Yuki Arai. Both would likely love to take a win here to clear the tie.
  • It’s been a while since Mizuki has had to deal with NEO-Biishikigun. In fact, the last time they faced off was when Saki-sama and then partner Misao defeated her and Yuka for the Princess Tag belts. At that time Saki-sama was quite enamored with the popping sugar rabbit to the point where it was sometimes difficult for her to focus on matches but her feelings soured after being rebuffed even after winning the Princess Tag belts and she decided that the beauty she thought she saw was just her own reflection in Mizuki’s eyes. Now Mizuki will pair with Pom to take on this new iteration of NEO-Biishikigun. Will Saki-sama’s feelings remain sour or will seeing Mizuki again reignite Saki-sama’s passion? And how will her maid in training react if the spark does catch flame? No matter what, Pom will probably bare the brunt of any frustrations that appear in the match. Poor, poor Pom.
  • Hikari and Nao will team together again on this show. The two seem to work well together as they both have a penchant for rule bending. Usually bending them to the point where if they went any farther they would shatter like a plate dropped from a skyscraper. That said, these two will need to have a 100% sync rate as they take on God Raku and her number one disciple Yuki Aino. This team is something to be feared not only because of their strong friendship bond but also because of the very strong showings that Aino has recently had against company ace and current PuriPuri champion Miyu Yamashita. She was recently able to pin Miyu in a tag match and then gave her an impressive fight in a singles match the next week. One might recall that Hikari’s bid for the International Princess title came after a strong showing in a match against Yamashita (and another Yamashita) as well. Given that Yuki and Hikari have had a strong rivalry in the past. Hikari would be wise to both watch her ass and her title.
  • A magical girl, a cat and a bee walk into a bar…. Sorry. ANYWAY. Yuka Sakazaki, Neko Haruna and Suzume have been grouped up for a 6 woman tag team match against opponents Nodoka, Kamiyu and Arisu. Suzume and Neko are of the same age and often pair up in tag team matches but otherwise this match has has no real deep friendships or rivalries. Its most likely that this match will end up being a fun romp with each of the wrestlers wacky tendencies revealing themselves. Look forward to it.
  • Kaya has been able to team with PaMi a number of times in recent memory. Hopefully was able to retain some image of Pami’s style and the kind of strategies she employs because the two will now have a singles match and Kaya’s recollection will be tested. The two masked women of Tokyo Joshi clash. How will the rookie do?
There are 3 more shows (including this one) before the big day.

There does seem to be a special method for using Chromecast and steps for which can be found on the DDT website. Hopefully this will be fixed for all platforms in the near future.
  • DDT and Tokyo Joshi have opened an international store. https://ddtstore.bigcartel.com/. They have previously had several Tokyo Joshi shirts for order. More products will likely be made available soon so be sure to check the site regularly.
