TNA gave me a lasting impression this week that they really stepped up as a whole.

TNA have been known in the past for having relatively small matches and long boring promo's that don't really go anywhere. However, This week on iMPACT we saw 3 good matches (Team Hogan/Flair, Aj vs. RVD and RVD vs. Jeff) & saw some small yet still good promo's. One of the promos we saw featured Eric and Hogan discussing several things; in the space of several minutes we had been introduced to the ranking system, seen more of Brooke, had more promotion for the main event and a promise that iMPACT will be better in the future. Hogan and Bischoff were only on the screen for a few minutes, but they managed to get across quite afew topics.

One of the main reasons as to why I found TNA hard to watch a year ago was due to the small matches that lasted for a few minutes and were a quick exhibition of the two talent without any direct impact on the storyline. TNA this week used the RVD/Styles match to also further promote the whole Hogan/Flair war.

How can TNA maintain this high standard we saw last night?

Using different font doesn't make this any more legitimate. TNA has a long way to go before it can even be considered as stepping up their game.

Tna improved last night because nash, hall and x pac was not on camera. And to keep up a good show like last nights, just do the same things, and make sure it makes sense. TNA has a habit of not making sense.

Just because you blow possible PPV drawing matches doesn't mean you stepped your game up. It means you are totally ignorant to the world of money making.

And they can't create more PPV quality matches when that time comes, why?

In an attempt to get viewers to switch from Raw to Impact, I say they're doing all the right things right now.

The second hour was definitely a step in the right direction show-wise. The booking obviously has a long way to go to catch up to anything. But I don't know why everyone's getting upset over giving away great matches, who cares if TNA makes money? They don't even care about PPV buys. The only "business" thing they want was that 1.0 and they got it, even though that's pretty sad. But that's the Hogan regime for ya.

Since when was having ppv quality matches on tv bad? Isn't that what you'd want. Long good matches, and not short matches where 5- 6 matches happen and it's only 10 minutes all together?

Yes but TNA needs to realize that money comes first before ratings. They basically shredded thousands of dollars they can afford to let go to waist (like WWE can) on a storyless match on free TV.

I still don't understand how TNA making money or how big they become factors into the quality of the episode. There are a lot of WWE fans here though, so I guess that being a factor shouldn't be a surprise...

The second hour had 40 MINUTES of decent wrestling. When's the last time that happened on TV?

You, like many others aren't looking at the big picture. RVD is the new champ. A new World Heavyweight champ was crowned on tv. They gave a dream match (for some) on tv. That will get more people to watch the show. It'll have the "anything can happen" fell to it. More people watching the show, in theory, leads to more ppv buys. They'll stay in tone so they don't miss anything. In doing that, they'll get drawn to other storylines, wanting to get ppv's.

Way to make AJ Styles look like shit unfortunately. "Anything Can Happen" shouldn't mean the champion we have been building for months can just lose the title to someone who hasn't been in TNA a good month or so.

So we go from "TNA are idiots for not pushing RVD and Hardy". To say it's dumb to push them since they haven't been in the company long? Makes perfect since. You completely changed your argument. This wasn't about how long RVD was there. It was about money. RVD still has a fan following. He's mega over with the Impact crowd. Time will tell if he's money or not.

As for your new argument, what's it matter if he wasn't in the company long? I can understand if it were some noob in the industry. But we're talking about RVD. Someone who's been going for what 10 years maybe? So if TNA signed someone like The Rock or Cena they have to wait to be built up for a year or so until he can challenge and win the title?

I would have rather Dinero win the title than RVD.

You saying it's making AJ look weak because he lost the title to RVD since RVD is new. Maybe I'm wrong but does that not mean RVD shouldn't be pushed since he's new?
