My only problem with that match is it comes off a little contrived at times because like Chris Bey happen to get the tag shot and moose happen to get the world shot and I’m assuming an X guy got the X shot etc.

They've subverted this format in the past though, it isn't always so obvious.

They did DM this year instead of X for it, but yeah it's usually obvious. At least this year, 3 of the 4 winners had tag partners so there was some drama about which got the tag title shot, and Moose pretending to be disappointed he got the world title instead was fucking hilarious

Honestly, I think they should have a one week opportunity on the first impact to switch briefcases if they want to. They should do that every time they do it and then you could just really randomize the briefcase winners.

Honestly it's weirder than that. Scott Steiner STARTED with the World Title case. Jim Cornette offered to buy his briefcase, which he refused. Steiner switched with Williams (in case Cornette wanted to try buying the case again). Then Steiner beat Williams repeatedly to win both briefcases (this was how Rhaka Khan was introduced). And then somehow Steiner and Petey Williams ended up on the same side and Steiner gave him his briefcase back.
