Scott Steiner Trashes TNA's New Open Fight Night Concept
Former WWE and TNA star Scott Steiner posted the following on Twitter:

* Open fight night makes Tna look so "Bush League"so an indy wrestler who nobody knows
* Or cares about can demand a title;way to de-value the world title
* So world title holders have to stand backstage like jabron's and an indy wrestler can call them out
* Way to break down the pecking order, dumbass
* Can u imagine Stone Cold the Rock John Cena,Undertaker all warming up backstage
* Waiting for some indy wrestler too call them out WTF are u kidding me pritchard hogan n bitchoff
* Are F'n stupid way to build up yur champions

So true.

Indy guys would be awesome to be honest. Colt Cobanna baby! :)

I will just wait and see what they bring to the table here.

Be a nice touch if they use Colt before he heads to Australia in June/July.

I really, really like the idea of the TV title being defended on tv every week. It gives the title more exposure and if they have regular title changes they can keep that division fresh. One issue with it is the fact that the champion is Devon and I don't want to see him wrestling a singles match every week. Give the title to someone that can work good matches every week and you have a winning concept.

Not too sure about anyone challenging anyone concept because surely everyone will want to challenge for the titles and so each fight night we will see all the champions defending the belts.

If this works it could become a really good concept but it all depends on the execution.

I have a feeling the only guys coming in will be those from OVW ..... They will use this to introduce the OVW Guys....

OVW has a couple of decent wrestlers.

I would mark the fudgecake out if Canaba, Carlito or JoMo appears

Not really. Infact not at all if i've interpreted the concept right and followed the spoilers correctly. The "indy wrestlers who nobody knows" don't challenge for the titles nor call anyone out, they have simply been given a chance by the judges to impress them in a match against a competitor of their choice. Me thinks you and Mr Steiner (despite being funny in his previous TNA ramblings) need to actually get your facts straight before trying to rag on TNA.

Here's what I've gathered from it:

- TV title will be defended every week from now on.
- On Open Fight Night, a title (I'm assuming just one other than TV) will be defended and Hogan picks the challenger, no one else.
- Also on Open Fight Night, anyone can challenge anyone, but it can't be for the title, since that's Hogan's job.
- Also on Open Fight Night, TNA Gut Check is where an indy guy (Probably OVW peeps) will prove themselves and try to earn a contract in front of judges.

Pretty cool concept, but like everyone else has said before, the execution is all that matters.

Isn't it great when an actual wrestling show, keeps expsoing the business as a work without showcasing just how fucking hard it is to actually become a wrestler.

stupid concept and stupid company.

Predictions

- Carlito shows up as 'Carlos' with a gimmick spitting pears
- MVP debuts as Victor Ignatious Porter, or V.I.P for short
- Chris Masters has a Harvard grad gimmick, and gets billed as 'The Master Debater', b/c TNA is so controversial
- Scott Hall gets another shot at TNA, turns up half dead (if not a no show) and still gets given a contract
