Since TNA has been so kind to put some past matches from BFG history on YouTube, I thought I'd post as many of them as possible here to get you ready for TNA's biggest event of the year!

First up from 2007 is a tag team dream match, as Team 3D collide with the Steiners in a table match!

the next match of choice is from the very first Bound for Glory and is a hardcore classic.

Following the success of the first match of it's kind at Victory Road 2004 (TNA's first monthly PPV), Monster's Ball returned in 2006 at TNA's biggest show. It's participants are a who's who of hardcore wrestling. Abyss, TNA's own hardcore regular. Sabu, a hardcore icon and one of the innovators of extreme. Rhino, the last ever ECW World & TV champion. And finally Jeff Hardy, the master of ladders and extreme style popularized by WWE's tag division in 2000.

This one is sure to see bodies broken and dismantled.

It is indeed. He substituted for Kevin Nash who was hospitalized with a staph infection. A piece of trivia for you, I was at that BFG!

It was the NWA World Title then, but yeah. Rhino won at BFG 2005.

Man, that's crazy. They had to sub someone in for the main event of their biggest show. What a night for Rhino!

And with all that said........

Our next match is also from the first Bound for Glory! As our friend Fuje Vise stated, originally it was scheduled to feature Jeff Jarrett vs. Kevin Nash for the NWA Title, but due to "injury" (it's Nash, remember) a gauntlet match was held to determine a new number one contender. And despite competing in Monster's Ball earlier, Rhino still had enough left in the tank to win the match and immediately face the champ afterwards in the main event!

our latest match sees us jump forward to 2009, my personal favourite edition of this PPV.

The opening match saw the return of Ultimate X, as 6 superstars battled it out for the X-Division title. The story heading into this match was a bit messy. Originally, it was a four way number one contenders match: Christopher Daniels vs. Suicide vs. Homicide vs. The Pope.

Then on the Impact before the show, current champion The Amazing Red decided that if he had no challenger for the show, he was gonna enter himself into the Ultimate X match and make it a 5 way match for the title.

Then to further change the circumstances, The Pope had to miss the show due to a family emergency, so TNA held a preshow tag match between The Motor City Machine Guns & Lethal Consequences, with the winning duo joining the Ultimate X match.

So we started with a four way number one contenders match, and finished with a six way championship match. Not bad eh?

our next match sees us back in the mid-noughties in 2006. In the first of three matches I'll be highlighting from this show, Christian Cage and Rhino blow off their feud in an 8 Mile Street Fight. One year after winning the world title, Rhino would once again find himself in a hardcore environment, but this time against long time friend and now enemy Christian Cage.

due to internet difficulties, I fell behind with this. So instead of just abandoning it, I'll use today of all days for a Bound For Glory megapost!

starting with 2006, we have the blow off match to one of TNA's hottest tag feuds of all time. AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels (The Phenomenal Angels) had collided almost immediately with Konnan's Latin American Exchange (LAX), prompting a feud full of violence and athleticism. After two title changes, the score was settled inside the six sides of steel.

Finishing off 2006's show was the much anticipated main event featuring Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett. Ever since Sting's return to professional wrestling earlier in the year, he and Jarrett battled leading to the Stinger challenging Jarrett for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. This had the added element of recent TNA signee Kurt Angle as the special guest enforcer!

2007 was opened with a showcase of both the X-Division and the tag division as LAX battled the recently reformed Triple X (Low Ki & Elix Skipper) in a number one contenders Ultimate X match.

Mega Post part 2!

we fast forward to 2008, and Kurt Angle goes one on one with a returning Jeff Jarrett in a first time ever match! This match also had Mick Foley as the special guest enforcer, adding another dangerous element to this personal issue.

Meanwhile, the main event saw dominant TNA World Champion Samoa Joe defend against the icon Sting. For months, Sting had accused Joe and the rest of the young talent in TNA of being disrespectful to the older talent in the company. This was a classic case of old school vs. new school, and featured the famous sky box jump by Samoa Joe.

Our next match was promoted as "hardcore extreme" and for good reason! This featured something of a hardcore dream match as Mick Foley and Abyss went one one one in Monsters Ball. This was their only one on one meeting, at it was as violent as expected.

Finally, we arrive at last years event, where it was a battle of the icons. One year after taking over TNA, Immortal leader Hulk Hogan would face Sting. The Stinger had sussed Hogan out long before Hogan turned on the fans and the company, and had long campaign against the Hulkster. Now was the time for Hogan to face up to his actions.
