The show kicks off with the brand new broadcast team of Josh Matthews and Taz welcoming us to a new, hard-hitting era in TNA. They say that tonight is the debut on Destination America and that they cannot wait to show the world what TNA is all about on their new home! It doesn't take long after the kickoff for the action to get underway as Manik makes his way to the ring. Matthews and Taz discuss what a great competitor Manik is and how he is taking on DJ Z here tonight in the first match on Destination America! Manik defeated DJ Z via pinfall (5:34) - Not quite a barnburner of a wrestling match by any means but both men got in their fair share of offense but in the end, Manik hit the DOA on DJ Z to get the pinfall victory. Following the match, we head backstage to Jeremy Borash who is standing by with TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode! He asks Roode his thoughts on the new era of TNA that has begun and Roode says that it doesn't quite matter to him what era they are in because he is the face of the company and as long as he is the champion, we will be in the Era of Roode. He goes on to call himself "The Era Defining" Bobby Roode before walking off. Just as Borash is about to send it back to the arena, Magnus walks into the shot and says that the Era of Roode won't last long before heading off. Back in the arena, Josh Matthews and Taz hype up the fact that next week, the annual Feast of Fired Match will be taking place and that there will be a World Heavyweight title shot, X Division title shot, Tag Team title shot and a Pink Slip up for grabs. They highlight those that have received a pink slip in recent years and say that there is a 25% chance that someone will be getting fired next week! Team Dixie (Ethan Carter III and Tyrus) defeated The BroMans (Robbie E and Jessie Godderz) via pinfall (6:13) - A relatively close bout that ended with a miscommunication by Robbie E which led to EC3 getting a rollup victory. TNA Knockouts Champion Taryn Terrell makes her way to ringside to be a special guest commentator for the #1 contenders' battle royal that will be taking place. Havok defeated 7 other knockouts in a battle royal (8:02) - Your typical battle royal here where the knockouts fight their hardest, in the end, Havok eliminates Gail Kim to become the new #1 contender for the Knockouts title. After the match, Taryn Terrell enters the ring and has a stare down with Havok but it is interrupted by the returning Awesome Kong who blindsides both women and beats them down, hitting each with an Awesome Bomb. She picks the Knockouts title up off the mat and holds it up before throwing it at Terrell. Josh Matthews and Taz get word in their earpieces that following tonight's main event, TNA President Dixie Carter will be making a huge announcement regarding the future of Impact. Kurt Angle defeated Austin Aries via submission (16:27) - A fantastic bout between two tremendous talent that saw both men go back and forth with neither seeming to get the upperhand but in the end, Angle forced Aries to submit to the Ankle Lock. Following the main event, TNA President Dixie Carter makes her way to the ring where she starts off saying that she is very glad that TNA has made a new home on Destination America. She says that tonight is only the start of things to come and says that she is introducing the new Management Director for Impact. She says that this man has wrestled all over the globe and proceeds to introduce...NIGEL MCGUINNESS! McGuinness makes his way to the ring where he thanks Dixie for giving him the position and says that his first act as Management Director is to declare next week a night of champions where, along with the Feast or Fired match, all titles will be on the line. He says that Robert Roode will defend his title against Magnus in the main event while Low Ki will defend his X Division Championship against Manik and that James Storm and Abyss will defend their tag team titles against Kenny King and Lashley of the Beat Down Clan while Taryn Terrell defends her title one-on-one against Havok. He finishes by saying that tonight is the start of something special in TNA and he is happy to be a guiding force. |
Impact kicks off with Josh Matthews and Taz welcoming us to tonight's huge event featuring every single title being on the line as well as the annual Feast or Fired match! They also highlight how we are going to hear from MVP of The Beat Down Clan ahead of Kenny King and Lashley's tag team title shot but first is the women's championship bout! Taryn Terrell (c) and Havok fought to a no contest, Terrell retains the TNA Knockouts Championship (3:23): The match started off well with neither woman getting the upper hand but it came crashing down quickly as Awesome Kong stormed the ring forcing the referee to call off the match. Awesome Kong continues her destruction of the two women involved in the match until security is forced to come out and pull her off, which proves to be a more difficult task than one would think. We get a quick cryptic video showing darkness with quick flashes of light and a voice whispering that the future is bleak and all will be revealed soon. Back in the arena, the ring is filling up with competitors of the annual Feast or Fired match. Josh Matthews and Taz run down the rules for the match and say that there is a 25% chance that one of those briefcases contains a pink slip meaning that the holder will be fired absolutely immediately. Samoa Joe, Tommy Dreamer, Homicide and Jessie Godderz claim the four briefcases in the Feast or Fired Match (5:06): Not much to say about this match other than: chaos. The competitors flew around the ring trying to grab briefcases but in the end, Joe, Dreamer, Homicide and Godderz claimed them. Following the match, Jeremy Borash comes to the ring and instructs the four briefcase holders to line up in a row and states that they will be revealing their briefcases one by one. As the first man to claim a briefcase, Homicide is the first to open and is rewarded with a TNA World Tag Team Championship opportunity! Homicide is relatively happy with this and Jessie Godderz is the next to reveal his briefcase and is rewarded with an TNA X Division Championship shot. Godderz flexes and looks very pleased that he will be getting this opportunity. Borash says that Samoa Joe and Tommy Dreamer will be revealing their cases at the same time on the count of 3. As he reaches 3, both men open their cases and it is revealed that Joe will be receiving a World Heavyweight Championship shot while Dreamer will be fired. Borash quickly interviews Dreamer and he thanks everyone for all of their support over the years and that he hopes this will not be the last we see of him in the wrestling world. Following a brief commercial break, MVP comes to the ring alone and cuts a promo about how tonight is the beginning of the domination of The Beat Down Clan. He says that Kenny King and Lashley are two of the brightest and strongest talent in the company and they epitomize "big things poppin', little things stoppin'". He proceeds to call them the greatest tag team to ever do it before introducing them and they come to the ring, raring to go for their title shot. The Beat Down Clan (Kenny King and Lashley) defeated The Revolution (James Storm and Abyss) (c) via pinfall to win the TNA World Tag Team Championship (12:02): This match had great back and forth tag team action with both teams trying to gain an advantage. Sanada tried to interfere on Storm and Abyss's behalf but was quickly stopped by The Great Muta and they brawled to the back. The ending was a shock as Storm broke a beer bottle across Abyss's head and Lashley hit him with a huge Spear to get the pinfall. As Kenny King, Lashley and MVP celebrate their tag team title victory, James Storm stands over his fallen partner Abyss. He looks down at him before spitting on him and heading up the ramp as the fans boo loudly. Backstage we see Jeremy Borash shouting and as the camera pans out we see Super Eric running through the backstage area saying he is on his way to stop some crime. Borash tells the camera that obviously Super Eric is back here in TNA. Low Ki (c) defeated Manik via pinfall to retain the TNA X Division Championship (7:28): Another fantastic X Division showdown that arguably would have and should have been given more time on a PPV that saw both men hitting high-flying maneuvers and jumping all around the ring. The ending saw Low Ki hit Manik with Warrior's Way to get the pinfall to retain his championship. Following the match, Low Ki is handed his championship and he holds it in the air celebrating when Super Eric runs through the curtain and down to the ring where he slides in and is subsequently hit with a roundhouse kick from Low Ki. The fans erupt in boos as Eric holds his head and Low Ki heads to the back. Following the final commercial break of the night, Magnus makes his way to the ring followed by the TNA World Heavyweight Champion "The Era Defining" Bobby Roode. Bobby Roode (c) defeated Magnus via pinfall to retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship (14:57): A hard hitting battle where it was not clear throughout who would win, Roode used several underhanded tactics but Magnus fought back and nearly got a victory multiple times. The ending came when Roode hit Magnus with not one, but two Payoffs to get the pinfall victory. As Bobby Roode is celebrating his victory, Samoa Joe's music hits and the crowd erupts in cheers as Joe walks through the curtain. Joe stares down Roode before holding up the Feast or Fired briefcase, showing that he intends on taking Roode's title. |
This week's Impact kicks off with TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode making his way to the ring and he does not look happy. Upon entering the ring, he demands a microphone and begins a lengthy promo about how last week he once again proved that he is the leader of this new era in TNA and that he will continue proving it week after week. He turns his attention to Samoa Joe and calls him a "fat Samoan f**k" which prompts "The Samoan Submission Machine"'s entrance. He walks onto the stage holding his Feast or Fired briefcase and has a microphone in hand. Joe says that Roode can throw whatever insults he wants but that doesn't take away from the fact that he can cash in his title shot at whatever time he wants. He proceeds to say "Joe's gonna kill you" in a quiet sing-songy voice which prompts the crowd to erupt in cheers. Joe heads off at Roode looks pissed in the center of the ring. Back from a brief commercial break and Mahabali Shera is in the ring awaiting his opponent which turns out to be none other than Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy defeated Mahabali Shera via pinfall (5:13): A surprisingly solid back and forth match that saw both men get in their fair share of offense but in the end, Hardy hit Shera with the Twist of Fate for the pinfall. Following the match, Matt Hardy requests a microphone and cuts a promo about how he so desperately wants to hold tag team gold once again and that there is only one man that he wants to hold them with and that is his brother. He proceeds to call Jeff Hardy out but he doesn't show, leaving Matt looking dejected. Backstage, Jeremy Borash stands by with Havok and asks her about last week's attack by Awesome Kong. Havok says that if Kong wants the TNA Knockouts title, she'll have to go through her first and that's when she's blindsided from behind by Kong herself. She tries to fight back but Kong tosses her into some nearby crates. Borash tries to get a few words from Kong but she grabs him by the collar and throws him through the set. The Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) defeated Shark Boy and Rockstar Spud via pinfall (3:18): The oddball team of Shark Boy and Spud didn't really stand much of a chance here as The Wolves dominated from the opening bell, winning with the Force of Nature on Spud for the pinfall. Following the match, James Storm makes his way to the ring where he grabs a chair and sets it up before sitting down. He has a microphone in hand and says that for the past week people have been asking him, "why James why?". He says that the real reason why is because The Revolution is over. He says that he is sick and tired of being saddled with losers and that he is going to make it on his own. He says that breaking a beer bottle over Abyss's head felt last week felt so damn good and that he would do it again in a heartbeat. Just as he is about to continue, Abyss storms the ring, looking livid. Storm swings the chair he was sitting on but Abyss ducks and hits him with the Black Hole Slam. The crowd erupts in cheers as Abyss stands tall over him. We cut to a video that show's men in a chain gang shackled together shuffling down a hallway with "God's Gonna Cut You Down" by Johnny Cash playing softly. The video cuts to a psychiatric ward showing scratches all over the wall with "Help me!", "I Want to Leave!", "You're Done" written all over. The video ends with a voice quietly whispering "Sooner or later, I will cut you down" before abruptly cutting off. Brooke defeated Velvet Sky via pinfall (5:02): About what you'd expect from a knockouts match at this stage. Both women got their moves in but in the end Brooke got a roll-up to get the victory. After a commercial break, TNA X Division Champion Low Ki makes his way down to the ring where he grabs a microphone and is about to start a promo when Super Eric races down to the ring once again. Ki looks pissed as Eric calls him an evil doer and says that he is here to stop him. Ki calls him an absolute idiot and says that he has no shot at winning the X Division Champion. Eric says that he will prove how good he is. Jessie Godderz comes out with the Feast or Fired briefcase and reminds them both that he has a championship shot he can use whenever he wants. Eric calls him another evil doer and says that he will vanquish him. Management Director Nigel McGuinness appears on the stage and says that next week Super Eric will get a chance to prove himself next week when he goes one on one with Jessie Godderz! Backstage, Homicide is shown talking on his phone and says that he can't wait for him to come and be his partner and can't wait for them to become the TNA World Tag Team Champions! Sanada defeated The Great Muta via pinfall (17:21): A barnburner of a match that featured a legend in the industry passing the torch as it were. The two showed what puro-wrestling is all about. The match had several false finishes and ended for real when Sanada hit Muta with the Skull End to get the pinfall victory. After the match, Sanada and Muta shook hands as Impact went off the air. |
This week's edition of Impact kicks off with Josh Matthews and Taz hyping up what is going to be happening tonight which includes James Storm against Abyss in the main event! They are soon interrupted by TNA Knockouts Champion Taryn Terrell who makes her way to the ring where upon entering, she cuts a rather lengthy promo about how Awesome Kong is trying to intimidate her way into a Knockouts title match. She says that if Kong wants her, she can come face her one on one, right now! She closes by saying that she is not afraid of Kong and will put her title on the line. That brings out her challenger, Awesome Kong who looks none too pleased. Awesome Kong defeated Taryn Terrell (c) via pinfall to win the TNA Knockouts Championship (2:07): Kong absolutely decimated Terrell and toyed with her for most of the 2 minute bout. Kong finished her off with a huge Awesome Bomb to get the pinfall to win the Knockouts Championship. Following the match, Kong snatches the Knockouts title belt out of the referee's hand and holds it high but, suddenly, "Hardcore Country" blasts over the PA system and the crowd absolutely explodes as Mickie James bursts through the curtain, making her return to TNA. She stares down Kong from the stage and motions for the Knockouts title, making it clear that she wants the title. Backstage, Matt Hardy is interviewed by Jeremy Borash who asks him about his brother Jeff and Matt says that he still hasn't heard from his brother and that he's worried. He looks into the camera and makes an emotional plea to his brother, saying that he needs him and will do anything to make sure that he's safe and that they will be tag team champions very soon in the future. We get another video package which shows a graveyard where men are digging graves as "Ain't No Grave" by Johnny Cash plays softly in the background. A distorted voice claims that darkness is coming and that the future is bleak before the video abruptly cuts out. Super Eric defeated Jessie Godderz w/Robbie E via pinfall (7:03): A surprisingly competitive match between these two. Super Eric does get in some comedy bits and Godderz comes close to victory on several occasions but in the end, Robbie E attempts to assault Super Eric, only to miss, hitting Godderz and allowing Eric to get the rollup for the win. As Super Eric celebrates with the fans, Jessie Godderz is absolutely livid in the ring as Robbie E apologizes over and over. Godderz shoves Robbie and screams at him that he is on thin ice! We cut to a "live" shot of Samoa Joe outside of a house. He says to the camera that he stumbled across this beautiful house and wants to know whose it is. He approaches the house and looks at the mailbox where it says "Roode". He laughs before getting serious and saying that he knew exactly whose house it is and he is going to head inside for a little visit. He knocks on the door and waits for a few seconds before the door opens revealing Bobby Roode. Roode attempts to slam the door but Joe forces his way through and begins throwing rights and lefts at Roode before slamming him through a coffee table. Roode crawls to his feet and Joe grabs him, locking in the Coquina Clutch but just as he's about to pass out, the police arrive on the scene and pull him off, putting him in handcuffs. He shouts at Roode that his time as champion is almost over. Tigre Uno defeated Mark Andrews via pinfall (9:23): A fast-paced, high-flying affair which is exactly what you would expect from the X Division. Both men flew around the ring getting their offense in and in the end, Tigre Uno hit the Sabertooth Splash to get the pinfall victory. A pre-recorded video is shown which shows The Great Muta and Sanada participating in some sort of ceremony where Muta bestows Sanada with a new name. He calls him The Great Sanada and congratulates him on his big victory last week. The two bow towards one another before shaking hands. The video ends with Muta leaving his boots in the center of an abandoned ring. Back in the ring, MVP stands with a microphone in hand. He says that last week they would have been here but they were too busy celebrating their title victory to bother with the peons that were in attendance. He continues his promo by hyping up the brand new TNA World Tag Team Champions, Bobby Lashley and Kenny King before introducing them and they make their way out to boos from the crowd. They stand on either side of MVP as he calls them the greatest tag team that has ever stepped foot into a TNA ring. That's when Homicide makes his way onto the ramp, holding the Feast or Fired briefcase. He cuts a promo saying that Lashley and King are among the biggest schmucks to ever step foot in a TNA ring. He proceeds to say that his tag team partner that will help him win those coveted belts is a man who has wrestled all over the world and has won championships everywhere he has been. He proceeds to introduce Chavo Guerrero! Guerrero walks through the curtain to cheers as he stands beside his partner. Homicide says that no one will know when he is going to cash in his briefcase and that it will be a surprise. Following a brief commercial break, Nigel McGuinness is shown on the tron and he announces that in next week's main event, Low Ki will be defending his X Division Championship against Super Eric! James Storm and Abyss fought to a double countout (11:54): This match was absolutely brutal as both men slugged away at one another with neither seeming to get the upper hand. The ending to the match came as both men fought their way out of the ring and the referee counted both men out. The two men continue brawling and Management Director Nigel McGuinness walks out on the stage with a microphone and announces that in 2 weeks, they will face off in a Monsters' Ball match! As he finishes speaking we cut to a dark room with the words "Darkness is coming, I'm almost ready" sprawled in what looks like blood and the show abruptly cuts off. |
This week's episode of Impact kicks off with TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode making his way to the ring. He is surrounded with about 12 security guards as he enters the ring and demands a microphone. He talks about how last week he was violated and brutally assaulted in his own home. He says that his wife and children were all put at risk last week by that psychopath Samoa Joe. Roode produces a document from his suit jacket and says that he has filed a restraining order against Joe and that he is not allowed within 50 feet of him. He says that if he even steps foot in the Impact zone, he will be arrested on sight. Roode thinks he's gotten one over on all of us, but Management Director Nigel McGuinness comes out onto the ramp and reminds Roode that Joe won the Feast or Fired briefcase fair and square and can choose to cash it in at any time that he would like. He says that in TNA, that supersedes any other document. Roode is pissed as McGuinness heads to the back. Magnus defeated Shark Boy via pinfall (3:28): Basically your run of the mill squash match here that saw Magnus absolutely dominate before finishing Shark Boy off with the Spineshaker for the pinfall. After the match, Magnus grabs a microphone and cuts a passionate promo about how he has been going under a fake name for years but that it is now time for TNA fans to meet the real him and he says that from now on, he will be going by his real name, Nick Aldis. He says that 2015 is going to be a big year for him and that he will be the TNA World Heavyweight Champion when all is said and done. Backstage, Jeremy Borash stands by with Mickie James who he asks about her return last week. James says that she saw Awesome Kong as a bully that needed to be taken down a peg and that she will be the one to do it, hands down. Kong enters the shot and the two have an intense staredown before security storms onto the scene to separate the two before things get out of hand. Matt Hardy defeated Rob Terry via pinfall (6:35): An actually surprisingly competitive match that saw Terry use his size to his advantage to throw Hardy around the ring, but Hardy used his experience to his advantage and the end came when Hardy hit the Twist of Fate to get the pinfall. Matt Hardy pleads to the camera for his brother Jeff Hardy to come be his partner once again. Homicide and Chavo Guerrero are seen conversing backstage and Homicide says that they can't let anyone know when they are going to cash in their briefcase and that if they can surprise the Beat Down Clan, they will win the belts no question. A video showing an empty room begins playing and we see a man enter the room wearing a black cloak. He sits in a chair with their back to it and in a distorted voice says that soon the darkness will come and nobody will be ready for it. The BroMans (Jessie Godderz and Robbie E) defeated Team Dixie (Ethan Carter III and Tyrus) via pinfall (8:14): A good back and forth matchup that saw Godderz and Robbie finally getting back on the same page. The two teams jockeyed for position and Robbie got the pinfall with a quick roll-up on Carter for the victory. A pre-recorded video package highlighting the military career of Chris Melendez is shown as well as his previous wrestling history. It ends with Melendez saying that he is coming back to TNA and he is going to make his country proud! Before we get to tonight's main event, cameras abruptly cut to the parking lot where James Storm and Abyss are slugging away at each other. Security is quickly on the scene and Nigel McGuinness comes out and tells both men that if they lay one more hand on each other before next week's match, they will both be fired! Low Ki (c) defeated Super Eric via pinfall to retain the TNA X Division Championship (13:23): A great main event match up that saw both men fight back and forth. Eric looked close to victory on many occasions, but it was not to be as Low Ki fought back and finished him off with Warrior's Way to get the pinfall victory to retain his title. Following the match, Jessie Godderz and Robbie E attack Low Ki from behind and beat him down and Godderz screams that he is cashing in his briefcase for a title match right now! Low Ki (c) defeated Jessie Godderz w/Robbie E via pinfall to retain the TNA X Division Championship (3:17): Godderz tried to use the blindside attack to his advantage but Low Ki fought back and the two had a decent match for how short it was. The ending came when Robbie E accidentally grabbed Godderz leg, leading to Lo Ki hitting a roundhouse kick to get the pinfall victory. After the match, Jessie Godderz is absolutely livid and begins violently assaulting Robbie E. Godderz grabs a steel chair and begins smashing it over Robbie's back over and over and over again until referees pile into the ring and pull him away as Impact fades off the air |
