Match Four: Beth Phoenix & Tiffany def. Michelle McCool & Layla after Beth pinned Layla.

Match Five: Kane def. Darren Young, Michael Tarver, Daniel Bryan, Justin Gabriel, Wade Barrett, Skip Sheffield, Heath Slater & David Otunga by disqualification in an elimination handicap match. Somehow Kane gets a chair and clears the ring of the NXT rookies.

Jack Swagger comes to the ring for his championship address but is interrupted by first Chris Jericho and then Edge. Teddy Long comes out and announced a 6-man over-the-top-rope battle royale to find the #1 contender on Smackdown next week.

General Notes

• Batista is now an official member of the Raw roster after still being a Smackdown superstar during his tenure on Raw in recent weeks.

• Jack Swagger is now a member of the Smackdown roster after his cashing in of the MITB contract to become World Heavyweight Champion.

• Katie Lea Burchill has quietly been moved to the Smackdown roster.

• Abraham Washington has been moved to the Raw roster from developmental.

• The host of NXT is now Josh Matthews, while Michael Cole and Matt Striker will commentate.

• The Great Khali, along with Ranjin Singh, has actually been released from the WWE, his increasing immobility reported to be the reason for this.

• Finlay has decided to stop in ring work for the WWE, opting to move to the role of a backstage trainer and give younger talent the limelight.

• This has similiarly happened to Kung Fu Naki, who is also set to move backstage and stop working matches on Smackdown.

• The Bella Twins have been released from the WWE, with no reason for this given at this time.

• The Undertaker is taking some time off for niggling injuries as he usually does at this time of the year. No surgery is required for the Deadman, thankfully.

• Mickie James and Melina both have around two months each before they can return from their respective injuries.

Well not a whole lot to say here with you doing very minimal changes to the shows, except i'm glad you're taking Undertaker away and push Katie Lea on SD. Speaking of pushing, I think "you know who" would be a great winner of that battle royal. And i'd really like you to stick with this, as even though James disagrees, I think you're pretty good.

So yeah, best of luck and i'll review when you post.

I'm doing basically the same kind of diary as well. It should be cool to see how you go compared to where I go with things. Already there are some differences even before either of us posted a show. I see you changed some stuff up a bit like the 6-man battle royal on smackdown. I guess I should've changed stuff up as well, oh well. My first diary so it will take some getting used to I guess.

Monday Night Raw 5/4 Preview

Tonight on Raw, David Otunga will be guest host after winning a battle royale between all the NXT rookies on NXT last week. He is set to open the show, accompanied by his NXT pro R-Truth, and make some match announcements for later in the night. The possibilities are vast, as anything could happen tonight with such a young superstar as guest host.

In the only match confirmed for tonight, 6 divas will be in tag team action. Eve, Gail Kim and Kelly Kelly team up to take on Jillian Hall, Alicia Fox and Divas Champion Maryse. With so many smart, sexy and powerful divas in the ring at once, anything could happen. Make sure to see what goes down tonight.

Last week we saw the great Shawn Michaels deliver his farewell speech as he retired from the WWE. However, his best friend Triple H tried to give his own speech dedicated to Shawn earlier in the night but it was abruptly cut short. Sheamus attacked HHH out of nowhere and laid him out in a remorseless attack. Tonight we hear from The Celtic Warrior and The WWE Universe is looking for some answers.

After John Cena defeated Batista for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania, The Animal has been determined in getting himself a rematch. This hasn’t been possible for him yet, but look for him to continue his plight tonight on Raw as he is set to ask David Otunga for a match against John Cena for Extreme Rules.

Many other superstars are set to be in action tonight as it promises to be an epic Raw, so don’t miss out on what’s in store! This is the first Raw without Shawn Michaels as a member of the WWE roster so look for all the superstars to step up!

RAW Preview ~

David Otunga gives himself a contract for RAW, or gives Truth a title shot. I'll def. lol.

Eve, Kim, & Kelley over the other diva's. Gail Kim push as Diva's Champion pls.

Sheamus challenges HHH to a crazy stip. match at Extreme Rules. HHH responds by owning him back.

The Animal has been determined in getting himself a rematch. This hasn’t been possible for him yet,
:roflmao:

Anyways, if Otunga ends up being a heel guest host, he gives 'tista the match. If not, I see Otunga putting Batista in a match where he gets his ass kicked or something.

The last line was cute.

Look's to be a decent RAW. Def. one that will be more match heavy imo. Despite the announcement of more promo's than matches in the preview. Everyone should be wrestling at the top of their game, and I cant wait to see what you do with this. You are pretty good storyline-wise, and I wonder what swerves you add to your storylines.

Monday Night Raw 5/4

When we start the show, guest host David Otunga is already in the ring accompanied by his NXT pro R-Truth. He talks about a blockbuster Raw that he plans to set up and he also allows Truth to request a match. Truth wants a Wrestlemania rematch and David Otunga announces Truth and John Morrison taking on ShoMiz for the tag titles later tonight. Batista comes out and berates David, demanding he let him have his rematch against John Cena for the WWE title at Extreme Rules. Otunga accepts but adds a small change to the match, making it a triple threat also including Randy Orton! Batista isn’t happy as Otunga then makes Batista and Randy team up tonight to face John Cena and… David Otunga himself! The crowd pops for the announced main event as the segment closes with Otunga and Truth celebrating.

Match One: ShoMiz vs. John Morrison & R-Truth for the Unified Tag Team Championships
This is a rather even match throughout that includes a long period of the World’s Largest Athlete dominating both Morrison and Truth. The end comes when Morrison goes for the Starship Pain on The Miz only for Show to push him off the corner. Truth runs across on the apron but Show knocks him off with a big right hand before Miz nails the Skull Crushing Finale for the win. The Unified Tag Team Champions celebrate after the match as The Hart Dynasty appears on the stage to stare them down.
Winners and STILL Unified Tag Team Champions: ShoMiz (7:42)

We go backstage to David Otunga in his office for the night and all the NXT rookies accompany him. They all want a match on Raw to get themselves some exposure and Otunga announces a 7-on-7 elimination tag team match for later on with all the rookies taking on various Raw superstars. Otunga walks out of his office but trips over Hornswoggle, who is playing around backstage. David angrily scolds him and puts him in a match with William Regal for later on, before walking off.

Match Two: Maryse, Alicia Fox & Jillian Hall vs. Gail Kim, Eve & Kelly Kelly
In a fairly standard divas match, the beginning starts with quick tags, allowing all of the divas to get some ring time. Eventually bodies fly all across the ring and Eve nails Maryse with a Backflip Reverse DDT amidst the confusion before pinning her for the three. After the match Eve celebrates as an angry Maryse goes crazy and leaves with her title.
Winners: Gail Kim, Eve & Kelly Kelly (3:12)

We see what happened last week on Raw with the cast of the Hot Tub Time Machine as guest hosts. We see clips of Sheamus attacking Triple H and then the main event of Randy Orton and John Cena defeating Jack Swagger and Batista. We then get a long sequence recapping Shawn Michaels’ retirement speech and the emotions that surrounded it. The package ends and then we are then told that next week’s guest host will be Smackdown General Manager Theodore R. Long in a one night only brand switch.

Sheamus comes out for a promo with the crowd booing him heavily. He talks about attacking Triple H last week when he was saying a speech for Shawn Michaels. He says that he is more important than Shawn Michaels and Triple H put together and that he will surpass their careers with his accomplishments, which already include being a former WWE Champion. Triple H comes out to a big pop and mentions Sheamus’ loss at Wrestlemania, but Sheamus calls it a fluke and says that HHH got lucky. He challenges Hunter to a rematch here tonight and The Game accepts, before running down to the ring.

Match Three: Sheamus vs. Triple H
Both men go all out early and it isn’t long before the action spills to the outside. Sheamus starts throwing HHH into the ring apron, steel steps and announces tables but Hunter soon recovers and starts punishing Sheamus with objects. Neither man seems to care about getting back into the ring and the referee count to ten.
Winner: No Contest due to double count-out (0:55)

As Sheamus and Hunter brawl, David Otunga walks out onto the stage. He says that it’s obvious that this match wasn’t meant for tonight because they just ended up beating the hell out of each other. He books HHH vs. Sheamus for Extreme Rules, but this time they can do whatever they want to each other, because it’s a Last Man Standing match!

We go backstage to ShoMiz, who are being interviewed by Josh Matthews. They hype up their win earlier tonight and dismiss claims that it was a questionable victory. To a big pop, the Hart Dynasty approach them and Natalya reminds them of last week when they walked away from their match. She wants a tag title match for Extreme Rules, but ShoMiz decline before walking away arrogantly to a lot of heat.

Match Four: Daniel Bryan, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Skip Sheffield, Darren Young, Michael Tarver & Wade Barrett vs. Yoshi Tatsu, MVP, Chris Masters, Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Vladimir Kozlov & Zack Ryder w/Eve & Rosa Mendes
In a very chaotic match, there is an array of quick tags and no team gaining an advantage until Wade Barrett dodges a Boom Drop and quickly pins Kofi to eliminate him. However, Chris Masters soon makes Darren Young submit to the Masterlock and Evan Bourne takes out Michael Tarver with an Air Bourne to shift the advantage to the Raw superstars. Justin Gabriel eliminates Zack Ryder after a 450° Splash. Soon Daniel Bryan shockingly makes Vladimir Kozlov submit before being eliminated by a Roundhouse Kick from Yoshi Tatsu. A while later it is Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater remaining against Yoshi Tatsu and Evan Bourne and Slater is eliminated after getting cocky and being taken down by a well placed kick from Yoshi. Gabriel tries to save face for the NXT rookies but the 2 on 1 situation is too much for him as he soon falls to an Air Bourne. Bourne and Yoshi celebrate after the match together.
Winners: Yoshi Tatsu, MVP, Chris Masters, Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Vladimir Kozlov & Zack Ryder (12:49)

We go backstage to Randy Orton who talks about having to team up with Batista tonight and not being happy about it. John Cena walks up and asks him whose side he is on and Orton replies by saying that he didn’t choose to partner with Batista, but he’ll still do anything he can to win. Orton says that he and Cena aren’t friends and that he will take the WWE title at Extreme Rules.

We go to the ring where Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase walk out to the ring. They talk about how Randy Orton has left Legacy and betrayed them. They put over the exclusiveness of Legacy and how there are strict criteria if you want to be a part of the stable. They say that there is no longer a leader of Legacy, and instead all three men will be equals. The crowd is surprised at the mention of ‘three’ but then a man walks out and joins them. He is introduced as Joe Hennig, son of Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig and 3rd member of Legacy. Joe introduces himself and puts over Legacy as a force that will dominate Raw in months to come. The trio then poses as the crowd boos, before leaving together.

Match Five: William Regal vs. Hornswoggle
Regal pretty much dominates the shit out of poor Horny, who never stands a chance. He is hit with the Knee Trembler and the damage continues with him being thrown into the turnbuckles like a ragdoll. Regal nails him with a butterfly suplex before assaulting the possibly unconscious Hornswoggle with a series of kicks. Regal then puts him in the Regal Stretch and Horny is motionless, prompting the referee to call for the bell. He refuses to break the hold and it is only when officials come out to break it up that Regal stops and stands over Hornswoggle, getting some great heat.
Winner: William Regal (1:09)

We go backstage to where Christian is with Josh Matthews he talks about how it isn’t right for him to be left off Monday Night Raw without a match. He seeks out David Otunga and asks why he isn’t in the main event, so Otunga puts him in it for next week. He says that Christian and Randy Orton will team up to face Batista and John Cena! Christian looks rather happy about this announcement as Otunga walks away.

We cut away to Yoshi Tatsu and Evan Bourne who talk about their victory earlier and mention that maybe them teaming together could lead to great things. They say that the Unified Tag Team Championships would look great around their waists.

Main Event: Batista & Randy Orton vs. John Cena & David Otunga
It turns out to be what you would expect, with Otunga hogging the in ring time for his team and Randy and Batista struggling to work together as a unit. David manages to hold his own against Orton and Batista but he makes a rookie move and Tista nails him with a momentum-turning powerslam. The finish comes a few minutes later when Batista has Otunga in position for the Batista Bomb and Orton runs into the ring before hitting his partner with the RKO! David quickly pounces on the opportunity and pins Batista for the three count.
Winners: John Cena & David Otunga (8:22)

Otunga quickly exits the ring and goes crazy with celebration as he makes his way up the ramp. In the ring a confused John Cena gets in the ring and confronts Randy Orton, who simply smirks. Orton leaps at Cena for the RKO but The Marine dodges and hoists Orton up before planting him down with the Attitude Adjustment! The WWE Champion picks up his belt and celebrates to end the show.

Tuesday Night NXT 6/4 Preview

Tonight on NXT we are set to have a blockbuster show. We are hot on the heels of NXT Rookie David Otunga guest hosting Raw, where he prevailed in the main event, partnering with John Cena to defeat Batista and Randy Orton. The 7 other NXT rookies were also in a tag team match, but fell short to the WWE Raw superstars in a close affair. David Otunga was everywhere on Raw and tonight he’s not booked in a match, but is sure to make his presence felt one way or another. Look for Otunga to pop up at any time during the show.

One match booked for tonight is Wade Barrett & Chris Jericho taking on Justin Gabriel & Matt Hardy. Barrett looked strong last week picking up the win for his team, but he had to fill in for his NXT Pro Chris Jericho, who was absent from the show. Now that Jericho has lost his World Heavyweight Championship he is preoccupied on Smackdown, so can he still focus enough on this match to take down the exciting cruiserweight Justin Gabriel and his mentor Matt Hardy?

In another tag team match set for tonight, Skip Sheffield and William Regal team up to take on Heath Slater and Christian. On Raw, the rookies teamed up to face the WWE Raw superstars and although Sheffield was eliminated relatively early, Slater made it to the final two in his team. However he chose to be cocky and was eliminated, which could have been what cost his team the eventual victory. Can Slater get his head in the game tonight as he teams with his NXT Pro Christian? Or will Skip Sheffield be saying ‘Yup, yup’ after a victory?

Daniel Bryan has not won a match so far in his time on NXT, but tonight he has a chance. He will be in action, but his opponent is disclosed until tonight. His NXT Pro The Miz is set to choose an opponent for him from anyone on the WWE Roster. Knowing Miz’s dislike of Bryan, the opponent he chooses is sure to be a great test. Will Bryan finally place a victory to his name, or will the trend of past weeks continue, with Miz laughing at Bryan after yet another loss?

There are so many questions that are ready to be answered. Make sure to tune in to WWE NXT tonight and see the superstars of tomorrow in action!

I hadn't had a real chance to read through this until now, but I really like what you are doing. If I remember right, you posted your RAW well before the actual WWE RAW and you put Batista and Cena in a last man standing... WWE stole your friggin' idea! lol I was actually going to put them in the same match but since WWE did it, and you have done it, I think I'll go for another way if I can find something that suits. Great job in hinting on a Bourne and Yoshi tag team. I too think they would be a good tag team. I really liked how you hinted Orton staying heel but then having him RKO Batista in the end, nice work. Your preview for NxT looks exciting too, so much better then what the actual WWE puts forth on Tuesday nights. I find that would be the hardest show to book so nice work. I'm definately staying tuned.

Tuesday Night NXT 6/4

We start the show in the ring with Wade Barrett. He says that he was supposed to team with his mentor Chris Jericho to take on Justin Gabriel and Matt Hardy in a tag team match, but Jericho has refused to appear on NXT due to his focus of regaining the World Heavyweight Championship on Smackdown. Barrett isn’t happy about this but he says that even though it’s now a handicap match, he’s still good enough to win.

Match One: Wade Barrett vs. Justin Gabriel & Matt Hardy
The match begins with Barrett using his size to hold his own against the much smaller Gabriel, but when Hardy comes into the match the playing field becomes more even and the faces begin to work over Barrett using their handicap advantage. Barrett still manages to hold his own but eventually falls to a Twist of Fate and 450° Splash from the faces.
Winners: Justin Gabriel & Matt Hardy (5:34)

We go backstage to where Josh Matthews is with David Otunga. He congratulates him on his stint as Raw Guest Host and his pinfall over Batista in the main event. Otunga says that this proves he deserves the title of #1 Rookie and that he will continue to be NXT’s hottest property. Matthews says that he will get further chance to prove this at Extreme Rules. He announces that after the second round of voting is revealed at Extreme Rules and two competitors are eliminated from NXT, there will be a 6-man over the top rope battle royale where the winner gets a match with any WWE Superstar of his choice for the Over the Limit PPV. He asks Otunga who he would face if he won and David says Batista, because he’s already pinned him in the ring. Matthews goes on to say that 2 weeks after Extreme Rules will be the third round of voting to decide the top four NXT Rookies, or those who will be gaining WWE contracts. He says that at the Over the Limit PPV, the winner of NXT Season 1 will be revealed and that the winner will receive a shot at any Champion in the WWE at the time. Otunga says that the winner will be him and then walks away smugly from new NXT host Josh Matthews.

Match Two: Skip Sheffield & William Regal vs. Heath Slater & Christian
The match begins with the pros showing why they had some of the most underrated matches of 2009 together. Eventually the rookies get in the action and continue the rather even match. Christian seems to be in control of the situation when he’s in the ring, as does William Regal and it is a case of the Pros leading by example. Eventually Christian nails Regal with a jumping European uppercut after a series of counters and Heath Slater begs to be tagged in. He is brought into the match, but instead of pinning Regal he starts cockily taunting him before turning around and playing to the apathetic crowd. However, Regal suddenly rolls him up and out of nowhere scores the three count. Christian looks disappointed and Slater can’t believe it as Regal and Sheffield make their way up the ramp.
Winners: Skip Sheffield & William Regal (9:44)

After the match, Heath Slater takes the microphone and is shocked at his loss, asking Christian why it happened. Captain Charisma says that his cockiness cost them the match. He mentions the difference between confidence and arrogance, saying that Slater is the latter. He tells Heath to tone it down and learn from him, because he will show him how to win with confidence next week on NXT.

The Miz makes his way to the ring, followed by his NXT rookie Daniel Bryan, who gets a rather large pop. He says that it is time for Bryan to really be tested and to see if he can record his first win on Tuesday Nights. He calls his opponent a great personal friend and tells him that he will be facing The Big Show. The crowd boos as The World’s Largest Athlete makes his way to the ring to join his partner The Miz. Daniel looks at ShoMiz, the Unified Tag Team Champions, and then at Show before nodding his head and bravely accepting the challenge. The Miz is taken aback at his confidence but still tells his partner to do as much damage to Bryan as possible.

Main Event: The Big Show vs. Daniel Bryan
The match begins with Bryan showing some heart against The Big Show and holding his own but it isn’t long before the raw power of The World’s Largest Athlete is shown. He ends up throwing Bryan around like a ragdoll but is unable to end the match, getting various two counts in the match. The crowd’s hopes are kept alive as Bryan manages to take Show down to his knees with an armbar but it only ends up with Daniel being slammed down to the canvas. Show starts dominating again but soon goes for the KO punch, only for Bryan to dodge and begin to start up a face comeback. The Miz gets on the apron to distract him and Show goes to run at Bryan from behind, but the Rookie ducks and Show knocks The Miz off the apron. Bryan then manages to put Show in a Figure 4 Neck Lock and after a few seconds of struggle, he taps out!
Winner: Daniel Bryan (7:32)

The crowd goes wild as Bryan celebrates after the match, somewhat achieving the impossible in defeating The Big Show to secure his first win on NXT. ShoMiz retreat up the ramp, leaving Bryan to celebrate as the show concludes.

Thursday Night Superstars 8/4

Match One: The Dudebusters vs. Jimmy Wang Yang & Slam Master J
In a fairly competitive match designed to have both teams looking strong, the action is very much cruiserweight style throughout the whole match. It could be described as a fun opener to get the crowd on their feet and The Dudebusters pick up the victory after some dirty tactics and their finishing move, an inverted atomic drop from Croft into a running high knee from Barreta. The announcers mention that this is called the Double Buster.
Winners: The Dudebusters (5:32)

Match Two: Ezekiel Jackson vs. Primo
This is a squash match designed to make Ezekiel look like a beast, something achieved effectively. Primo manages to fight back slightly in two cases but never manages to get the better of Big Zeke, who soon puts him away after a Book Of Ezekiel.
Winner: Ezekiel Jackson (2:46)

Match Three: Zack Ryder & Rosa Mendes vs. Chris Masters & Eve
In a mixed tag team match where the rules indicate that people in the ring at the same time must be of the same gender, it was always in the favour of one team or the other. The faces started the match in very strong fashion but when Ryder distracted the ref it allowed Rosa to nail Masters with a low blow and shift the momentum. Soon Chris got the hot tag to Eve though and she managed to pin Rosa after a Backflip Reverse DDT.
Winners: Chris Masters & Eve (6:42)

Match Four: Mike Knox vs. Christian
This is a fairly even match that allows both men, and especially Knox, to show how good they can be in the ring. Knox has his periods of domination and lands some sweet moves such as a bicycle kick and his flying crossbody but Christian always manages to make a comeback and get near falls with moves such as a frog splash and a tornado DDT. However, the finish comes when The Bearded Behemoth has Christian in position for the Knox Out, only for Captain Charisma to spin out and nail him with the Killswitch for the win.
Winner: Christian (7:54)

WWE NXT Review 4/6

Wade Barrett Promo: Nothing amazing by any means but explains Jericho's absence and puts over Barrett's confidence.

Wade Barrett vs. Justin Gabriel and Matt Hardy: This was an ok match. I like the fact that Barrett was allowed to look strong and wasn't completely squashed.

David Otunga Interview: Really played up the attitude of Otunga and how confident he is. The battle royale concept is intriguing because there's so many different choices for who each rookie could face.

Skip Sheffield and William Regal vs. Heath Slater and Christian: This one was pretty good. The ending made sense and it sets up the Heath Slater and Christian promo afterwards as well as whatever Christian has planned for next week.

Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show: BRYAN WINS! Anyway this was a good David vs. Goliath type match. I actually like the choice of Big Show being the one to give Daniel Bryan his first win.

Overall: More details. The recap was detailed just enough but needs a little extra in some of the matches.

Friday Night Smackdown 9/4 Preview

Tonight on Smackdown, we start the show with new World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger. Jack shocked the world at Wrestlemania by winning the Money in the Bank Briefcase and did it again last week on Smackdown when he cashed it in on Chris Jericho to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time. It has only been a week with gold around Swagger’s waist so he must still be as confident as ever as he opens tonight’s show.

Jack Swagger may be feeling pretty good at the start of the show, but by the time the 2 hours are up he could be getting slightly nervous. For you see, tonight we find a #1 contender for Swagger’s title in a 6-man over-the-top-rope battle royale. Ezekiel Jackson, Kane, Matt Hardy, Dolph Ziggler and heated rivals in Edge and Chris Jericho will be competing to earn a shot at Swagger’s title at Extreme Rules. All 6 men are hungry to get a shot at the title, and 3 men in the match haven’t even won a world title before, making the opportunities in this match even vaster. Who will prevail and end up taking on Jack Swagger at Extreme Rules?

In tag team action, there will be a rematch of last week’s match-up of Cryme Tyme taking on John Morrison & R-Truth. Cryme Tyme requested this match after last week’s defeat, where their opponents humiliated them in an embarrassingly short time. JTG and Shad are a very formidable team and they look forward to showing Truth and Morrison that tonight.

Last week, CM Punk asked for a Wrestlemania rematch against Rey Mysterio, this time offering his hair as a prize for Mysterio if he were to lose again. Last week Rey didn’t show up to reply, so Punk is set to be out in the ring tonight to state his intentions once again. Apart from this, Punk also has what he calls a massive announcement regarding the state of the Straight Edge Society. What could it be? There is only one way to find out!

Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre’s reign is adding up to become one of the most dominant in recent memory. Last week he brutalized Matt Hardy before the match even started but it could be a different story tonight against Shelton Benjamin. The Sinister Scotsman still lacks a contender and if The Gold Standard notches up a win tonight he would put himself first in line to receive a shot at the Intercontinental title.

In another announced match for tonight, we will see a rather unique match take place as The Dudebusters will take on The Hart Dynasty and also the team of Jimmy Wang Yang/Slam Master J in a triple threat elimination tag team match. The three teams will have one member in the ring at all times, making the action much like a triple threat match but with tags. Only one member of the team has to be pinned for both men to be eliminated, but which will be able to withstand the other two and prevail tonight? Also, with The Hart Dynasty involved, this raises the chance of ShoMiz appearing and making their presence felt, so will we indeed see the Unified Tag Team Champions appear on Smackdown tonight? Tune in tonight to see!

Finally, there will be a divas match on the card as well tonight. Two smart, sexy and powerful vixens will be in the ring as Beth Phoenix takes on Katie Lea Burchill in the latter’s Smackdown debut. Which lady will come out on top and will there be an appearance by Team Lay-Cool, the Women’s Champion Michelle McCool, Layla and Smackdown Consultant Vickie Guerrero? Beth Phoenix sure hopes not as they will do anything within their power to stop her from getting a shot at McCool’s title.

With so many blockbuster matches and a new contender being found for a new champion, this is one episode of Smackdown you don’t want to miss!

Friday Night Smackdown 9/4

We go to the ring where Jack Swagger comes out with his new World Heavyweight Championship, receiving a lot of boos. He mentions the 6 men who will compete in tonight’s battle royale main event to find a #1 contender to Swagger’s title in Edge, Chris Jericho, Kane, Ezekiel Jackson, Matt Hardy and Dolph Ziggler. He runs them down one by one but when he gets to Chris Jericho, The Best In The World At What He Does comes out and calls Swagger a fluke, stating that he will get his title back at Extreme Rules after he wins tonight. This prompts Edge to come out and tell Jericho that he has bigger problems in him, because they still have unfinished business. He said that he won’t find closure until he defeats Jericho and that he will end up doing that, World Heavyweight Championship or no World Heavyweight Championship. Teddy Long comes out and announces that Swagger’s match at Extreme Rules will be a Tables match.

Match One: Cryme Tyme vs. John Morrison & R-Truth
This starts off differently to last week’s squash, as JTG and Shad put up more of a fight, obviously more determined to win. However, the momentum soon begins to shift towards the team that competed for the Unified Tag Team titles at Wrestlemania, as they begin to work over JTG. A minute later and Morrison has JTG in position for the Starship Pain, but when he pulls himself up for the move he takes a chair shot to the head from Shad!
Winners: John Morrison & R-Truth by disqualification (5:56)

After the bell is rung, Shad slides into the ring and nails a running R-Truth in the gut with the chair, before planting him with an STO. The crowd is by now booing heavily as JTG pulls Morrison up before hitting him with the Shout Out. Shad takes a microphone and says that Cryme Tyme has never won the tag titles, but that’s about to change. JTG says that they will do whatever it takes and it’s not about pleasing the fans anymore. Cryme Tyme survey the damage they created before leaving to a chorus of boos.

We go backstage to Matt Hardy, who vows to prevail in tonight’s main event battle royale and go on to face Jack Swagger at Extreme Rules in a Tables match. He talks about all his past accomplishments but then Dolph Ziggler appears and mentions that Hardy has never won a world title, despite being in the business for over 10 years. Ziggler runs down Matt and says that he’s old news, and it’s time for a guy like Ziggler to shine. He says that Dolph Ziggler will win his first world title at Extreme Rules. Suddenly Ezekiel Jackson walks into the picture and stares a hole through both men. He grunts before starting at the camera and nodding, while making title belt motions around his waist.

Match Two: Drew McIntyre vs. Shelton Benjamin
Shelton Benjamin makes his way to the ring for a match against Drew McIntyre, but as he walks down the ramp, McIntyre attacks him from behind and lays him out on the ramp. The crowd boos and he stays on the ramp, before grabbing a microphone and demanding some serious competition or he won’t be defending his title anytime soon.
Winner: No contest due to the match never starting (0:00)

The Straight Edge Society of CM Punk, Luke Gallows and Serena come down to the ring with Punk leading the way. Punk says that there is still no reply from Rey Mysterio regarding the offer he made for a match at Extreme Rules. Punk reminds him that the match stipulates that if Punk wins, Rey joins the Straight Edge Society but if Rey wins, Punk shaves off his hair. Punk then states that this is a very special day, as he introduces a new member of the Straight Edge Society. He brings out Joey Mercury, who fans may remember from his earlier days with MNM. Punk says that Mercury had to leave the WWE because of an addiction to prescription pills after breaking his nose in a brutal match. He even had to retire due to injury but he returned to action thanks to Punk’s rehabilitation. Punk knew his secret talent and sought him out, before converting him to a Straight Edge Lifestyle and shaving him bald. Punk says that we will see how Mercury has progressed after training with the Straight Edge Savior.

Match Three: Joey Mercury vs. Local Talent
In a match simply for Mercury to show off his skills, he pretty much dominates the local talent in every aspect, the poor guy not getting any offense. Mercury eventually finishes him off with a Hangman’s Neckbreaker, before celebrating with the rest of the Straight Edge Society.
Winner: Joey Mercury (1:27)

We go to the ring where The Hart Dynasty is in the ring. The crowd pops as they put themselves and the Hart family over, mentioning Bret’s win at Wrestlemania 26. Natalya issues a challenge to ShoMiz for the Unified Tag Team Championships at Extreme Rules. ShoMiz come out and repeat what they said on Raw by declining this offer. This time Teddy Long comes out and tells them that this is his show and he makes the rules. He announces ShoMiz vs. The Hart Dynasty for Extreme Rules in an elimination tag team match! He then tells ShoMiz to take a seat because The Hart Dynasty is in a match right now.

Match Four: The Dudebusters vs. Jimmy Wang Yang & Slam Master J & The Hart Dynasty
In a match with elimination and triple threat rules that allowed any man to make a tag to their partner at any time, the action starts chaotically as you would expect. Frequent tags are made and when David Hart Smith is dumped out of the ring by The Dudebusters, Croft nails Yang with a missile dropkick, before pinning him and eliminating the team of Jimmy Wang Yang & Slam Master J. Only The Hart Dynasty and The Dudebusters remain and they go at it in a standard tag team match for a while. Smith & Kidd get in control and soon have Croft up for the Hart Attack. However, when Kidd runs off the ropes the Miz grabs his foot and causes him to stumble and fall. The crowd boos but the referee misses the interference, as Barreta then clears Kidd from the ring with a baseball slide. During this, Smith is distracted and Croft utilizes the opportunity to catch him with a sunset flip and get the three count!
Winners: The Dudebusters (9:26)

As The Dudebusters celebrate, ShoMiz throw Kidd back into the ring before following him and sliding into the ring. The Miz picks up DH Smith and goes for the Skull Crushing Finale but Smith pushes him away and takes him down with a big lariat. This attracts the attention of The Big Show, but Smith similiarly takes him down with a big boot. ShoMiz quickly bail and recuperate outside the ring but then Tyson Kidd runs and takes them both out with a slingshot crossbody over the top rope! He slides back into the ring and The Hart Dynasty as a whole celebrates while ShoMiz lie incapacitated on the outside.

We go backstage to the Big Red Monster Kane, who vows to win tonight’s battle royale. He talks about hell prevailing over everything else and fire engulfing the 5 other competitors. He says that he will be the one defeating Jack Swagger at Extreme Rules in the Tables match to capture the World Heavyweight Championship.

Match Five: Katie Lea Burchill vs. Beth Phoenix
In a fairly standard divas match, it’s pretty much Beth all the way in a glorified squash. Katie manages to get some offense in on her Smackdown debut with an eye poke but soon enough The Glamazon takes control and ends up winning with the Glam Slam.
Winner: Beth Phoenix (2:32)

After the match, Beth gets on the microphone and calls out Team Lay-Cool. The three divas in Layla, Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and Official Consultant Vickie Guerrero appear on the stage. Beth wants a shot at the Women’s title and Vickie says that she can have one at Extreme Rules, but there is a catch. She has to defeat Layla next week then Vickie herself the week after. Beth seems content with this and celebrates her victory some more as Team Lay-Cool leave, but not before Michelle mentioning that her title isn’t going anywhere.

Main Event: Chris Jericho vs. Ezekiel Jackson vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Edge vs. Kane vs. Matt Hardy for #1 contendership to the World Heavyweight Championship
Before the bell can even ring, Edge sneakily throws Chris Jericho over the top rope, making the former World Heavyweight Champion irate. He demands to be let back into the match and the referee obliges but then when the bell is finally rung, Edge does the exact same thing. However, Chris Jericho immediately gets back into the ring and eliminates Edge himself. The two favourites to win the match are both already eliminated and they brawl on the outside of the ring as the action continues inside. A few minutes later Dolph Ziggler gets cocky and he takes on Kane, only to be promptly nailed with a Chokeslam and thrown over the top rope. In a clash of the titans, Kane and big Zeke then go face to face and Ezekiel gets the better of the situation. He has Kane half way over the top rope when Matt Hardy sneaks up behind him and dumps Jackson to the outside! He then tries to do the same thing to Kane but to no avail as The Big Red Monster grabs him by the throat and pulls him over onto the apron. Hardy tries to fight out and get back in the ring but one huge uppercut later and Kane is the last man left standing.
Winner: Kane (8:46)

The bell rings and fire explodes from the arena as the crowd pops for Kane’s victory. Jack Swagger walks out onto the stage with his World Heavyweight Championship and The Big Red Machine stares him down. The commentators remind us that it will be Swagger taking on Kane for the title at Extreme Rules, in a Tables match!

Yeah, sorry it took a little longer, but i've been offline this week so I couldn't review. But it was probably better because SD is more important than NXT or Superstars. And also, my review will actually be IN FULL unlike some people's... :nonono: But anyway, to the show!

Swagger promo: Well, it set up Edge and Jericho at Extreme rules, so I knew they wouldn't win the battle royal. Swagger did his thing and it was pretty smart to have the new champ out to start the show. Okay segment.

Match One/aftermath: Well, that's not too bad. Those two talentless losers got beatdown and you didn't rush into anything. Unfortunately that means the team has to continue and JTG is stuck with Shad which sucks. But i'd rather them turn heel then break up randomly, so meh.

Match Two/aftermath: Oh, come on! D: DUD segment. But seriously, despite me liking him, how is Dolph Ziggler and Hardy in a title battle royal, before Shelton? He beat everyone's favorite Punk not that long ago, what have Ziggles and jobber done? Although tbf I like all 3, jhust not the smartest bookinhg. A feud with Mac and Shelton has potential though.

Match Three/ETC: Mercury? LMAO. I'm not a fan of Punk or his group (besides Sereena) and I actually think Matthews can bring something good to it. But the oddest thing is, you give him a Hangman's Neckbreaker for a finisher? You could at least TRY to find a better move.

Match Four/ETC.: The Dudebusters getting a push is good, very good. But I would have rather had Slam Master and Yang get the push, those guys kick all sorts of ass. But either way, it sets up Show-Miz and THD at the PPV. Also Tyson Kidd took out Miz and BIG SHOW with a crossbody? I...don't think so.

Match Five/ETC.: Bleh. Poor Katie. So I guess you're giving the girls some time, which is good. Although I can't stand Lay-Cool and Vickie. Well, Layla is okay, just fire the rest.

ME/ETC.: Kane? Are you serious? And to add on what I said earlier with Shelton, just what has Ezekiel Jackson done to deserve being a number one contender? Not just Shelton, it seemed like there were a few guys that would have been better in those spots than who you put. I don't understand Zeke being in at all. Meh, this feud can't be good. I like Kane and Swagger, but I can't even imagine them working a match that's worth a damn. And to make things worse, it's a Tables match? You couldn't have just held off until the end of the show and made it an Inferno match? At least that could lead to an alright story. With the current feud, the decision is obvious who would win at ER, and it's an old guy getting pushed.

Overall, a brief and decent read. I can't say I agree with some of your booking in any way, and a little more detail could never hurt, but in the end, that is understandable. But then again, I ALWAYS advise against writing all 4 shows, as it's just too hard, and I have a feeling like your last solo project, you will get burned out and start on something else. I'm hoping that is not the case, as all 3 of your main shows have potential in them. But I would seriously advise you to take a step back and think about going forward with this. Make sure that your storylines are planned out, and yourself is in check to see this through for a long time. But it is WWE recaps afterall, so quite frankly i'm not holding my breath. A solid week of shows from you, i'll read Raw too and probably review at least one of your shows every fiscal week.
