I don't really have any emotional attachment to the title at all. It should mean the best wrestler in the world and a world championship, which should be a very prestigious accolade. Whether it means that I don't know. Balor, Owens, Goldberg, Lesnar and Reigns are deserving champs. There has been some really good matches and moments involving the title. The title even has a +500 days reign. So on paper the title has a lot of prestige.
I guess the easiest comparisons are the NXT titles. In kayfabe they mean just about as much - best man, best woman - but seeing the classics from NXT 2014-15 and how they changed the whole landscape for women's wrestling, seeing the whole Asuka title reign and how the discussion every special was "is this the person to beat her?", to even seeing Shayna kicking ass and taking names... That title feels like a whole 'nother level compared to even the main NXT title which feels like something well worth fighting for, with so many hard-fought battles and well-earned celebrations to its name... There's just a whole different level of emotional investment thanks to the awesome writing for the women's division down there.
Like the Universal title... I don't know if it's poor chemistry, bad agents, Lesnar's lazy ass.. But it doesn't really feel like there has been an absolute war to reach the top of the mountain over that title, has there? There should have been between Reigns and Lesnar but... Feels like the closest we've come was the aforementioned 5 minute epic sprint of big offense that we were split upon earlier.
