There's numerous sources and people who claims that the WWE Universal Title is cursed.

And truth be told I 100% believe them.

The only guys who have a proper run is the part timers. No proper full timer has had a good run with the title.

Kevin Owens reign wasn't proper because he didn't lose it in a proper match. WWE may as well told Kevin to walk to the ring hand Goldberg the Title, then leave.

Two full time guys had to relinquish the title due to health issues.

And we all know about how Brock made the title disappear 75% of the time.

Plus the title has only change has in mediocre calibur matches:

Goldberg and Lesnar's match only had spear, Jackhammer, germans, belly to belly, and F5 that's it.

Brock lost his Title via distraction.

How do you feel on the cursed Universal Title?

lol what, a short match doesn't not make it a proper match. He lost it in the main event of a PPV, against one of the biggest names in wrestling and the crowd loved it. That's as proper as it could get in that situation and Owens would probably tell you the same

I actually posted a thread like this once...

The Curse of The SmackDown Women's Title

And while early on it was rough going...eventually the SDL women's title had a
couple of solid runs/reigns (Natalya & Charlotte...although the less said about
Carmella the better) and now Becky finally has the belt again & looks a million
dollars...making the belt also look like a million dollars.

The Universal title...well...I have a theory about that.

See I believe the reason why the belt is red is it was designed to be carried by
the Demon Balor.

I believe WWE were going to go "ALL IN" with a massive Balor push which would
have lasted till at least Fastlane (& a possible Goldberg squash...Ugh!).

It always seemed strange to me that they moveed the "World" title to SDL...it would
have made more sense for the company to create the Universal title for SDL & make
it blue in color.

Owens holding the belt while playing second fiddle to Jericho & his list was all the
WWE had because I'm guessing Balor's injury threw all their long term plans out the
window.

Balor winning & while being injured, Owens "second fiddle" run, Goldberg's 30 days,
Lesnar coming & going as he pleases, Reigns vacating...it does indeed make the
belt looked cursed...but hey...that could all change if they put the belt on Strowman
for 250+ days and have him wrestle some solid title matches, defending it at every
pay per view & perhaps even a few RAW main events.

Personally I think the Universal title should be on Seth Rollins...but I personally just
want the best workers to have the titles...meaning the title matches will be wrestled
to the highest possible standard.

But 99% of the time the fans expect to see a high calibur hard fought match for a title.

If they could give us a high calibur and hard fought cruiserweight title match, but could only give us a World Title squash match. I will say their is something wrong

Cursed? Nah. Just horrible booking for the title and the wrestlers who hold it/feud for it.

And that's what I truly mean by it being cursed.

WWE don't realize they're putting a dark cloud over their belt .

Hopefully that belt wouldn't go back on Lesnar.

Because the whole idea of it being "Rarely defended, more prestigious it becomes"

That makes as much sense as an unsharpen pencil... Pointless

I would be fine with the champ only having one match a month at the PPV only if they were on every weekly show. When they aren't there every week and they don't do every PPV, it doesn't make the belt mean more, it just makes us all forget about it.

That's exactly how they should go about it with the Part-timers.

But whenever Lesnar gets it they allow him to defend and treat it like it is a UFC title

That's one of the many many reasons why their viewership keeps dropping and some of their seats are emptys in their shows at times.

I know a lot of people would not agree with this, but I do think there should be a season for WWE just like there is for actual sports. Like have a period of time where nothing is happening but house shows. Maybe like 2 months out of the year. This will give wrestlers more time off which will prevent injuries and it will allow them to really consider what they want to put together instead of just winging it in terms of story building. With the Network and all the content loaded on there, it can easily be done without them losing a lot of money but I know they would never do something like this.

that really depends on the wrestler. Goldberg entertained and drew millions back in WCW by just squashing people every week. And it still worked like that when he came back in 2016-17.
The cool thing about wrestling is that you don't have to stick to only 1 type of wrestling match. Obviously everyone has their preferences but there's more than 1 way of putting on a good match. If everyone was performing like cruiserweights or "indie guys", then that would get repetitive real quick, and "great matches" would turn into typical encounters.
Also, nobody really expected Goldberg vs Owens to go longer than it did. The fans knew what they paid for and still enjoy it. I, myself, also didn't see a problem with it, especially because Goldberg vs Lesnar was a waay better Universal title match than Owens vs Jericho was at Mania 33

You can't book injuries and illnesses. This is what the 'curse' is referencing to.

I don't believe in 'curse' bullshit. If you do believe in that type of stuff then grow up.

I didn't say the match had to have the same style as a cruiserweight title match or be "repetitively quick".

I mean't that if you can give us a high calibur cruiserweight title match, then you can give us a high calibur World Title match.

Like you said there were people who expected to see Goldberg beat Owens quick.

But there were also people who expected to see a traditional World Title match, instead of a traditional Goldberg Squash match.

If they can do it with Sting and Seth Rollins,

Why not Owens and Goldberg

How can we miss you if you never go away?

The thing is with the Lesnar example earlier. I would argue back with "but what would Brock do on Raw? Stand and bounce behind Paul as he talks? Squash someone?"

Brock was at his best when he arrived sparingly and did stuff each time. Kill dudes. Relentlessly chase Seth. Fling car doors in the crowd...
Brock became a waste of time because he stopped doing anything
