The beats on this one are definitely the standout for me and MF DOOM’s flow compliments it so well. I think I like MM…FOOD more from DOOM but this is still a very solid album overall.

* Tricks of the Trade by The Goats this will be a brand new one, never in my life hear of this one or this group. At least not directly in front of me. I am a fan of a collective though, so I have high hope for this one. Not Your Typical American had a decent enough jive to it, it was punchy and scrappy and was a solid start.

* Columbus Boat Ride skit was actually unexpectedly funny. Best skit so far in the club. And it led smoothly in R U Down With Da Goats, which very much stands out as the best tune so far. After I think five or six tracks in I am getting major A Tribe Called Quest Vibes at the moment. There is a lot of potential with this record.

* The rest of the album flowed decently enough, but its not a game changer for me. R U Down with Da Goats was the standout track for me though. I would give this a solid C rating though, I suppose I am left wanting to listen some Beastie Boys now though so its not the intended target but it was still decent enough. I am tempted to see what other stuff they've got though. This is probably something that I might reflect on and listen again in the future though.

Yeah this def has Beastie Boys Paul’s Boutique influence beatsWise. They only did two albums before they broke up. The heavy political themes may be a bit outdated since it’s 1992 but not as much has changed as we’d like tbh

Yeah I dug it a lot my sophomore year of high school and even had my government teacher listen to it. He was in his early 20s so he was down with it.

I'd argue a lot of those themes just simmered until everything blew up again a few years ago so they became just as relevant, but I'll listen pretty soon so we'll see lol

Pop goes ya head like the top of a daisy, you ghost when the word hits like Patrick Swayze. Crazy this shit about a plausible denial, North takes the raps, and he claps at the trial

Insane verse pretty quick in lol also love when the gentrified slang of the 2010s pops up in these older hip hop tracks like the concept of ghosting.

Yeah the Paul's boutique vibes are really strong, kinda feels like the entire format was on their mind then they threw this together. This content is so angry tho lmao, the Columbus skit was amazing

Yeah PB really opened up a lot of minds beatwise. The message is clear politically for sure lots of dated jabs like the names of the cops but crazy that Roe v Wade shit is still relevant
