Secondly, I want to address the idea that because Abe was right-wing and debatably a Japanese Nationalist, he still did a lot to help Japan during the great recession. Not only that, he was a highly respected politician on the international stage, to ultimately diametrically opposed nations: Iran, USA, Taiwan, China, South Korea, Pakistan, and India. He was someone that when it came time to negotiate internationally, could do so with the best of them, and always fought in Japan's best interest. Was he someone who was divisive and polarizing? Sure, but he always had Japan's interests first and foremost, which is what a politician is supposed to fucking do, keep the country's, and constituents, best interests at heart.
