That sort of situation happened in Japan during the 1960s itself, with the assassination of Inejirō Asanuma; he was the leader of the Japanese Socialist Party and was murdered on stage by an ultranationalist, which set up a series of attempted assassinations that all ultimately failed.

Ultimately, Shinzo died because Japan frankly doesn't have gun violence. Last year, there were six, count 'em, six deaths related to guns in Japan. It is not something that happens there, and security didn't account for it (as they fucking shouldn't have had to).
Yeah definitely something fishy there.

People blaming the lack of security do not understand just how rare this kind of threat is in Japan, the fact the assassin had to make a homemade shotgun just to get the job done tells you how successful those kinds of laws are in Japan. Security likely would have been looking out for anyone who may have had a knife or a wakizashi.

Yeah I'm not blaming security at all, what I meant by fishy is that there must have been more people behind this assassination, I don't believe that this one guy came out of nowhere with a well crafted homemade shotgun kill the former prime minister just because he was "unsatisfied" by his politics.

Secondly, I want to address the idea that because Abe was right-wing and debatably a Japanese Nationalist, he still did a lot to help Japan during the great recession. Not only that, he was a highly respected politician on the international stage, to ultimately diametrically opposed nations: Iran, USA, Taiwan, China, South Korea, Pakistan, and India. He was someone that when it came time to negotiate internationally, could do so with the best of them, and always fought in Japan's best interest. Was he someone who was divisive and polarizing? Sure, but he always had Japan's interests first and foremost, which is what a politician is supposed to fucking do, keep the country's, and constituents, best interests at heart.

I’ll say this. At least they made it a certain distance. You can still get good video at 9 feet. The only problem could be if like, if you are in your car and then you couldn’t record it.
but now even if you're say 15 feet away they can arrest someone recording them and say they were too close and it's your word against theirs, doubtful your recording sees the light of day once they've already arrested you and conveniently lost your phone

The biggest issue is if a Cop walks up to you while they're conducting business. They could just literally force you back further and further away.
Yeah, true that’s also an issue. Didn’t even really think of that.

That’s why you go on Facebook live, and even set it as private if you want. But oh I’m sure they will be cops saying “you’re to close “ and shit like that. Like this is gonna cause so many issues.

It's because he's considered a Japanese Nationalist. As if that means he's deserving of being assassinated.
I’ve never understood the issue with being a Nationalist when you’re a citizen, but especially a politician, of that country. Just don’t add a race before nationalist and we’re groovy.
