The science of studying ancient literature and its accuracy of transmission is called historicity. The Bible is so exceedingly accurate in its transmission from the originals to the present copies, that if you compare it to any other ancient writing, the Bible is light years ahead in terms of the number of manuscripts and accuracy. If the Bible were to be discredited as being unreliable, then it would be necessary to discard the writings of Homer, Plato, and Aristotle as also unreliable since they are far far less well preserved than the Bible.

Interpretations of the bible - have been accepted to have changed over time.
Plus - if you personally believe:

In my opinion and beliefs you cannot pick and choose and be a Christian.

then you must be a Catholic - because any other version of Christianity has involved picking and choosing and not following the original teaching of Jesus.

If they already cited equal protections and not privacy solely than I was right for the beginning. I think it’s political pandering. They couldn’t and wouldn’t try to overturn something that’s ironclad in Constitutional protection dating back to the 14th.
It's what it comes down to, if Clarence Thomas is serious about overturning Obergefell v. Hodges, than it proves the Equal Protection Clauses do not actually matter. It would render the 14th Amendment an utter paradox and a useless Amendment

Opinion. Not fact.

I’m not a scholar so I can’t speak on what is or isn’t in the sacred texts, but I could never square away the idea that god created all mankind in his image, made some of them gay or queer or your preferred nomenclature and then said it was a sin to live the way he made you and to avoid the hell he created, you had to live your life devoid of being who you were born to be and be unhappy on the inside so you don’t get spit roasted in this lake of fire he made for disobedient children as some kind of sick game of mental game of thrones. Only to what, go to heaven and see the father that made you live 80 miserable years on Earth as some kind of test? Like a narcissist who abuses his girlfriend would do? Heaven better fucking worth it and I never believed it could be so religion wasn’t for me.

Which btw, doesn't exist in Judaism, as I'm sure Juice can attest to.

So I'm legit just running my mind through a lot of preliminary stuff I can write to Justice Thomas. I dunno, maybe I'll write an open letter here and see if you all approve of it.

This is going to be a long ass post that a lot of people are going to disagree with. Don't let my views in here change our friendships outside of this thread...

Anyone who is disappointed/outraged/whatever by today's supreme court decision - leave. I did. Best decision I made. America is NOT the land of the free. I have more freedoms down here in New Zealand than I had in the U.S. Greatest country in the world? Fuck right off with that shit. Less pollution, a fair minimum wage, less poverty, less crime, laws that protect LGBTQ+ citizens, healthcare that doesn't require you to get a second mortgage...and a government that looks after peoples well-being.

I'm not saying you have to come to New Zealand. You can go anywhere. But once you look past a lifetime of propaganda (USA chants, God bless America, Anthems and flags...general jingoistic bs...) you realize that actually America ain't so great. What freedoms have I lost since leaving? I have no idea because I haven't found any yet. I still get the same order from starbucks. I still play the same video games and watch the same tv shows. I still eat the same food. I still visit the same wrestling forum.

America is fucked. Archaic rules written so long ago that most of it isn't even relevant in today's modern world. Rules from a different time. A country ruled by religion. Because we all know exactly which God they are talking about when we hear God Bless America....the white mans God.

Not having religion forced down by throat is wonderful. So is not having to worry about getting sick and going bankrupt. Not having to worry about discrimination whenever I leave the house....

There is a better world out there. Don't be afraid to go and take a look. You don't owe America shit. Your only loyalty should be to yourself, to live somewhere that affords you the best possible life.

(Also now I live in an actual democracy, not just somewhere that claims to be...but that's a whole other thing)
