Everyone just know they are some of us out here who believe in God, and everything but also believe in Equal Rights and no one being discriminated against. I’m sorry for the folks who try to use the Bible for evil.

I understand that, but as a generally rule when I bash or talk about religion is about the people who take it to the extreme or use it as a justification for hate.

There is no interruption to equal. You either mean equal or you don’t.

That is your interpretation. I along with many Constitutional and legal scholars disagree. You can't just use a vague interpretation to justify it. That same argument could be said for many things. Some people might think it is their 'liberty' to speed and no state can make laws against it.

See this would work if there was laws saying “these people can speed, but these people can’t speed.” But having a law that only give rights to certain individuals, isn’t equal at all.

Most constitutional arguments will come from conservatives. That’s not my problem with it. I also believe in the constitution. My issue is there’s not really an argument against same sex marriage in the constitution. At least I’ve not heard here. He’s only said that’s your opinion or interpretation without going into how you can legally allow one to marry and not the other without violating equal protection.

You’re good, I just wanted to ensure folks some of us aren’t like that. I wouldn’t say I’m really even religious, like I believe in God, but like I don’t use it as a weapon. Hell I don’t even buy into the whole BS of “if you don’t believe in him you’ll go to hell.” Like, nah. As long as you live a good life, I believe you’ll be rewarded for that.

Think you misunderstood my question to him. I meant more so are the ones who thinks gay people aren’t included in the 14th.

And marriage is most definitely a federal institution considering it affects your tax filing status with the IRS. Which makes it even more protected under the 14th amendment

I keep bringing it up because I’d like to actually hear his argument. I think it’s a dog shit opinion that gay people aren’t equal but as a constitutional scholar and I use that term loosely cause I didn’t go to college for it or anything I would love to hear his argument using the constitution just to hear it.
