This bill has little to do with the recent gun conversation. It was drafted when the protests were taking place outside Justices homes and people tried to downplay it as harmless. And then this nutjob showed up to one's home attempting to assassinate Kavanagh so he's saying it needs to get passed.

I understood. The funny part is that a specific instance happens and we need to PASS THIS BILL instantly, and it will be passed as it should. Meanwhile pew pew school shootings and no changes done cause we gotta argue and disagree for a few months until it blows over until next time. This instant action and attempting to solve issues is what the general public wants so to see it done only when a government official is affected and not a regular citizen is downright hilarious

There's a much easier solution for one versus the other. You can't do nothing about every issue because you don't have an easy fix for one.

For the record, this concept isn't unlike one of my solutions for schools. Put metal detectors and police at the entrances. If both sides can agree, that helps.

And this isn't "republicans bad" cause that bill has been sitting in the democratic house for ages no? So it took this to happen and now Pelosi is like "don't worry we'll pass it" like wtf why does it take lunatics with guns for this shit before actual change happens?

They won't lol no bill will ONLY have that in it I can guarantee it, at least it'd have some age restrictions like you'd suggested too and those seem to make any bill dead on arrival. Or they'll just tack on some other unrelated ryder like they always do that makes the other party look bad for voting against the "school shooting bill" when there was unnecessary shit stuck in there
