For a serious discussion though, very briefly and oversimplifying it quite a bit, the Great Recession and Financial chicanery of 2008-2009 had not much to actually do with Obama or Biden, but rather the culmination of over 20 years of terrible decisions from both the Democratic and Republican parties; not to mention the housing bubble fulling bursting in December 2007, the bankruptcy filing of the Lehman Brothers in September the next year, and the stock market subsequently failing as a result.

The Great Recession was just a bad time for everyone in a time when America and the world had just finally shaken off the terrible after-effects of 9/11.

I'm not sure why you're upset that I'm shifting the conversation to economics when my original post was telling people to drop the LGBTQ discussion because that's a very personal issue for some.

Your claims on the origins of the 2008 Great Recession I would imagine would be fair to discuss and debate over since it's markedly *not* LGBTQ-related.

I do want to throw it out there because I feel like this is fairly relevant to the topic:

Nearly half the staff on WS is either gay, bisexual (yours truly), or at the very least non-cis-gendered. I do not think they would appreciate the implication that you have to have been converted to be gay or transgender.

Now for the last time, let's drop this conversation, or I will lock the thread for a couple of hours until everyone decides to cool off.
