And pretty soon you will no longer be required to know how to spell SAT.

Why would you need it!? Getting a college degree isn't as hard as it was years ago. It's become a money making machine instead.

I made more money with 3 months of community college taking trades than anyone I knew who went to University for 4-8 years.

I had my own house when I was 24 and they were still living with their parents or renting shit apartments.....post secondary is overrated....the country needs more trades people, the infrastructure clearly reflects that.

I absolutely agree that, both countries, need to focus more on trades.

When I was in high school, we had wood shop, metal shop, and agriculture courses. They don't offer that any more. It's amazing how many 25 year Olds I meet that can't change a tire or understand that things don't just magically appear in a grocery store.

I've been teaching my kids basic agricultural, automotive, and home economic skills that haven't been taught around here in forever.

shop (wood and metal), and ag were both offered at my high school and still are as of this year bc my brother is a senior and in them. They've probably been cut a lot of places as all electives sadly seem to be including art and theater. Sports and by proxy marching band seem to be the only safe ones tbh

Yeah, sports is where a lot of focus has been on in my hometown (I don't live there and haven't for years). A very small portion of a student body actually plays sports, so it feels like those who aren't end up getting screwed. Now there are come areas in Georgia that have created career academies that offer welding and stuff like that. It's mainly in areas that want to drop down in classification for sports though.

It's "sports" for my high school as well and by sports i mean exclusively football, you're fucked if you play anything else lol but it brings in a ridiculous amount of money that IMO isn't spent properly at all. The town voted to spend 750k on a scoreboard, 500k on a indoor practice facility when I was a freshman...and on the same ballot there was 250k going towards general school maintenence and stuff (was vague and probably also went to football) and that one barely passed but the two football related ones easily got enough votes:lol

Another mass grave.....and close to where I live.

Search every residential school and you'll find the same thing.....child genocide from the church and the government....and people wonder why I don't recognize this occupying force as a country.
