THR reports that Dwayne Johnson is in talks to star in a feature film adaptation of the 1980's television series, The Fall Guy, to be directed by McG. WWE Studios will co-finance the film.

The original series ran for five seasons starting in 1981. The show starred Lee Majors as Colt Seavers, a Hollywood stuntman who also worked as a bounty hunter. The show was created by Glen A. Larson. .

The project is being produced by Ashok Amritraj, Laurie MacDonald, and Walter Parkes.
I am SO down for this, I really hope they let The Rock sing the old theme song as well.

The thing is, The Fall Guy wasn't some ground-breaking television show, it was just a really fun one. In that sense, I'm not worried about them tarnishing the "legacy" of the show, especially when a lot of the target audience (assuming 18-35) won't remember or have seen it. I'd agree on The Rock not being Lee Majors, but I don't think playing the character is all about acting anyway, more about charisma which The Rock does have.

Surprised it's taken so long for the words "WWE Studios" and "The Rock" so long to appear together in a new bit.

Well, I've never seen the actual show but from watching the intro it looks like it'll be majorly (see what I did there?) fun... and that theme song is amazing.
