I still hold the position that I seriously do not think Putin will get the chance to use nukes if a global conflict were to break out. His "allies" care too much about their assets and Armageddon will make them lose everything. If Putin is serious about the nuclear option he is likely murdered before it can happen.

He's 70 years old. He's not all there. And I'm convinced that before he dies he wants to leave a legacy such as Lenin and Stalin....

I think he's planning to build a new Soviet Empire. I don't think he's gonna stop at Ukraine. He's old as balls. He's got nothing to lose by going in for all out war.

If he wins, best legacy ever. If he loses, at least he tried.

As far as the nukes go, he would be crazy to drop them on any lands that would make up part of his new empire. So The USA would be fair game....

Again, that's entirely contingent on his allies signing off on that. China and India (even if allied in a peripheral sense) would want the last fucking thing to be a nuclear war. It would eat entirely into the money-making business they got right now. As I also said, his allies within Russia would lose everything in armageddon, and they clearly care far more about their own positions of power and assets than they would losing it all for one man's glory quest.

Putin would be fucking killed before the Nuclear option is seriously considered. If a global conflict were to break out, nukes would stay exactly where they are. The only way nukes happen is if Russia is in such a devastating position that they would lose all of their land by surrendering unconditionally. That would never happen, Russia at worst would be forced to cede territory in Syria, Mongolia, Georgia, and Ukraine. But status quo would remain relatively the same.
