How would anyone trace a private sale though? If two people meet in the woods and one person gives the other $100 for a gun how would anyone know

That's why these are illegal and you're supposed to report them. They don't think they should have to report gun sales.

Cars operate the same way, that's why they have titles

you can stop a gun with a gun but an even better idea is not having the gun to begin with. And even if you do stop them they probably would’ve had a chance to hurt or kill someone before you do.
I think you're missing what I'm saying.

Most people who are proponents of the "good guy with a gun" hypothesis are the same ones who would freeze up and get killed in the exact same situation because they think they're heroes in their own mind but are cowards.

I mean sure I don’t really disagree lol. I don’t know these people personally so I can’t really say whether that’s true but I also don’t think it’s not true. My point was the general idea of beating a gun with a gun is stupid regardless of how tough you are or think you are.

Han Kang, the South Korean author best known for her surreal, subversive novel, “The Vegetarian,” was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature on Thursday — the first writer from her country to receive the major award.

Mats Malm, the permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy, which organizes the prize, said at a news conference in Stockholm that Han was receiving the honor “for her intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas and exposes the fragility of human life.”

“The Vegetarian,” published in Korea in 2007, won the 2016 International Booker Prize after it was translated into English. It centers on a depressed housewife who shocks her family when she stops eating meat; later, she stops eating altogether and yearns to turn into a tree that can live off sunlight alone. Porochista Khakpour, in a review of “The Vegetarian” for The New York Times, said that Han “has been rightfully celebrated as a visionary in South Korea.”

U.S. consumer prices rose slightly more than expected in September, but the annual increase in inflation was the smallest in more than 3-1/2 years, potentially keeping the Federal Reserve on track to cut interest rates again next month.
The consumer price index increased 0.2% last month after gaining 0.2% in August, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics said on Thursday. In the 12 months through September, the CPI climbed 2.4%. That was the smallest year-on-year rise since February 2021 and followed a 2.5% advance in August.

The 2024 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded on Friday to the Japanese organization Nihon Hidankyo, a grass-roots movement of atomic bomb survivors, “for its efforts to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons.”

Nihon Hidankyo has for decades represented hundreds of thousands of survivors of the U.S. atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. These survivors, known as the hibakusha, are living memorials to the horror of the attacks and have used their testimony to raise awareness of the human consequences of nuclear warfare.

I'm not sure if this is timed very well or very badly. :hmm:

It wouldn't matter either way. I don't think any world leader really gives a flying fuck about the Nobel prizes :lol
