If they were serious about change they would oropose realistic n legal solutions that are bi partisan as opposed to political theater. You're being played imo, they do not care about you at all outside your vote n will.say anything to appear to be fighting for you, while actually doing nothing. It's a game

Oh, I’m all for any reform that can make things safer for everyone involved and speed up the process in a way that isn’t detrimental to the process. Definitely have to make sure though that we are still doing things the way they do that is best for both the immigrants and the country as a whole.

I will say, though we do take in more legal immigrants than any other nation on earth, though.

I can definitely track it down. Last I heard we were taking somewhere between one and 2 million legal immigrants and most countries are taking about half that at most.

The fear mongering also seemed to help them more on non-border states anyway. The staunchest conservatives I knew in east Texas never actually had that strong opinions on illegal immigrants, we've been around them all our lives for one. So just anecdotally, I can see why it wasn't a narrative that could last once people started thinking

For sure. Like, depending on which demographic you’re referring to Cubans, for example can be like some of the most conservative people on the planet. If Republicans could get out of their own way, they would lock up way more of the Latin vote, than they currently do.
