Circling back to the whole McCarthy thing, I think what some people have to realize is that Democrats very likely didn't go along with and vote out McCarthy out of schadenfreude or because it's a Republican vs. Democrat insular thinking.
The Democrats willingly bailed out McCarthy, and he proceeded to fucking bash them for it. He was openly hoping that Democrats didn't sign the emergency measure, because it helped his agenda. Additionally, it's very likely that Democrats already knew that McCarthy wasn't going to stop the shut down regardless and were fine with voting him out. This emergency deal though leaves Congress with two problems.
1.) We have to pass an omnibus bill before Thanksgiving, which very likely isn't gonna happen, and probably wasn't gonna happen, even with McCarthy in charge.
2.) The question of Ukrainian Aid. It appears there was an agreement in place between the Democrats and McCarthy to set aside aid towards Ukraine. McCarthy then reneged on the deal and categorically denied that he made a deal with Democrats regarding Ukraine on October 2nd. Despite Joe Biden, the President of the United States, stating that they had worked out a deal, on October 1st.
Additionally, McCarthy's budget plan had further restrictions on Abortion access. In what world were the Democrats ever going to go for that?
Whether you slice it or not, McCarthy got voted out by Democrats because he proved to be a bad faith partner, and untrustworthy.
