The original prison swap for Bout was going to be a Marine in 2000 - but the Bout deemed as too high value. Swapping the Merchant of Death for a WNBA, seems to confirm Bout more as a political prisoner - playing right into Russian propaganda

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a landmark bill Thursday enshrining federal protections for same-sex and interracial marriage.

The United States House of Representatives pass the bill protecting same-sex marriage and interracial marriage in a vote of 258-169-1, with 39 Republicans joining all Democrats voting in favor.

They never admit either its just "states rights" lol just like how the civil war wasn't about slavery

That’s amazing news. I think that should be enough for now but it definitely will need to be an amendment to the constitution to realistically uphold for good.

Doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate this glorious mile stone in the meantime because holy shit some meaningful legislation actually got passed through the Senate and the House with both Democrats and Republicans.

I think on this particular issue I think the ones are saying states rights are more libertarian speakers because I know plenty of conservative politician is that no problem just outright saying they don’t think gay people should get married. Why it bothers him that much I don’t know.

I do think there are more Republicans coming around on dropping this issue though because I’ve seen a couple conservative commentators that are even fighting their own audiences because they keep telling them we don’t care about gay marriage anymore stop talking about it.

It’s pretty funny actually. Especially when they try to explain why conservatives need to still care about it.

realistically you can't take it away already as we're seeing that gay people actually exist even in conservative states bc they aren't as scared to come out. But there's been a shift there even now that we have websites to report drag shows popping up after mass shootings happen against the LGBTQ community. There’s definitely a shift with more gay conservatives coming out in and there’s a lot of even gay conservative activist groups which I think is why we were even able to get this legislation passed so I don’t think there’s going to be anyone that’s going to attempt right now to overturn it but in 40-50 years it’s possible the Supreme Court could overturn it like they did Roe but it’s not likely but it would be nice just to get it in the constitution just because.
