The number one thing that can make a break you is being competitive on both cigarettes and alcohol prices. The sin is really where the money is. If you’re not continuously scooping out all the competition there within of the like the two blocks closest to you and being in line or better than them you will die.

pretty much what happened to my grandpa's liquor store too, he was doing good for awhile until some chains opened up and they were able to be open on Sundays and what not

The profit is still good, too. Those are rung up for 30 packs that we sell for $22. So still make money on 6-packs at that price than we do selling the 30.

So a little secret for you. They’re overcharging for no reason. No place needs to sell a sixer for $6 or $7.
