Indeed the gas stations can be especially rough because there’s not a whole lot you can do to differentiate yourself from other places other than slightly getting better deals and also there’s typically gonna be a lot of competing gas stations not just in your city but even right next to you.

You also have to get people to come inside. The margin of profit on the actual gasoline itself is so minimal most of the time you barely break even.

Oh this is indeed the way. Getting loyal customers that are repeat and regular customers is the key to not dying as a gas station and convenience store.
